The lakers are moving on from LeBron James after this season and LeBron feels a way. LeBron camp “Luka didn’t even want to be a laker”.

We can call Bron on his without using him as a cover for others. They traded for AD because he was AD :pachaha:. They coulda said no to Russ the same way they said no to the coach he begged for. They were shyt before he got there and did a shyt job of managing themselves (especially with coaches, cant put that on Bron) independent of him before being gifted Luka. They would be at the mercy of his old ass if that didnt fall in their lap. But it did so he gotta get in where he fit in for the first time ever.
Lakers had an opportunity to sign AD outright in FA, LeBron was tweeting everyday asking for the trade. The entire selling point of the trade was Bron is old, you can't wait for AD. Russ was on Bron and AD 100%. This is not a fantasy world where you say no to your best players, best players get what they want in most organizations. Bron and AD recruited Russ from day 1. Rich Paul was meeting with Adam Silver behind Lakers asking to somehow fire Luke Walton, not sure how that would have worked.

Lakers catered to every thing he wanted, saying they didn't is lying to yourself. I am not mad at it, most teams cater to their stars. I am just not going to pretend it didn't happen.

if Bron wants out and Lakers are ready to move on, seems pretty logical to setup a deal with Golden State and we can get the Bron / Curry team up and they can both make a final push for a last ring. I just don’t know what that looks like in terms of salary matching or if possible now that they also gave Jimmy a deal

lol @ the alleged luka shade tho. but might be right, does he even want to do this? got to commit to being elite starting now or title hopes looking ehh. wc is young and aint letting up. to be honest, there's no reason an elite luka should be eliminated with all nba lebron on his team.

i'm in the bron should retire camp. hope dude doesn't get messy on his way out. too good of a career to go out on a sour note.

But there is, they play the same position and have so much overlap in their game. You can get by in the regular season with that, but in the playoffs you need some depth across the roster and they got what 90 Million going to the SF spot? Now throw in Reaves as the 3rd best player that also does similar things and yeah they not going anywhere

Has there ever been a championship team with the two best players playing the same position?

It's hard to imagine LeBron going to Golden State. You've tried to have this curated career and then you run up under Steph? An ideal situation would be a situation like KD found with Houston but what young team is a LeBron away?

as a 26 yo lebron already had 2 titles. luka has to get right and commit. just like zion, he's good enough to be better than most even at 80%. he's no where near lebron's level at the same age though. not close to kobe, shaq, magic, etc at 26.

So why is Lue on the Clippers? Why was Russ there a year after everybody saw it was a disaster? They told him "no" when they felt like it. They went along with things they thought were beneficial. What team in history has had a player of AD's caliber ask to be traded to them and said "Nah we cool for now. See ya in FA"?

This is not prime Steph. But I don't think Steph and Bron alone would be a championship team.

When Bron put that Knicks towel over his head during a game before 2024 All Star Break, he pissed off a lot of people. They still ultimately view him as an employee. They’re going to passive aggressively sabotage his efforts to own an NBA team. They (the league and owners) have already extracted tens of billions out of him over the last 20+ years and they don’t need him anymore. Lowkey wouldn’t be surprised if there are suddenly reports leaked about his alleged side chicks to destroy his family man image on his way out.

The Lakers needed to do this 3 years ago.
It would have been better for them and for LeBron and Anthony Davis.

Not from a business standpoint. Bron was generating tons of revenue for the Lakers. They needed a revenue generating replacement and they got that in Luka.

But what does that have to do with them playing the same position? Give Luka prime Wade and Bosh and he grabbing chips too :mjlol:
