The lakers are moving on from LeBron James after this season and LeBron feels a way. LeBron camp “Luka didn’t even want to be a laker”.

When was the last time a star has signed with the Lakers as a free agent?

In 1996 when we needed it

At no time during Kobe’s reign did we need or have max space to sign a star. We traded for Pau and he re upped with us. Plus we also attracted older stars like Gary Payton, Karl Malone and Ron Artest. Ron helped us win a ring and Karl would have if he didn’t get hurt.

Yall think yall be saying something with those bullshyt technicalities.

Dude is 40 leven years old. Nobody wants to be caught holding a multimillion contract when he suddenly falls off. or sustains an injury he is never able to come back from.

And bouncing from team to team throughout his career means nobody is worried able the legacy aspect of seeing your franchise player in another uniform.
Dallas kept dirk even when they signed Luka until he decided to retire, Lakers don't have that same motivation

Yall nikkaz saying he goin back to Cleveland and it’s like that shyt is wack too. He not contending over there, atp this ain’t nothing but stat padding on some Brett Favre shyt. It would be really nice if he just calls it quits after this season. Hell, I’d even give em two seasons if he takes a massive pay cut. But this shyt is pathetic, we really supposed to prioritize Bron over Luka? :russ:
I hate that nikka, wish he never even came to the Lakers but really? This nikka has earned the right to go out on his terms. As far as the Cleveland shyt I’m just saying that shyt as his farewell season, if this isn’t his last season and he signs somewhere else might as well be in Cleveland…it’s just the right story to end his career.

It goes both ways though.

He's done alot for the Lakers as well....rescued them from being a bottom of the barrel franchise at a time when nobody was trying to play for the Lakers. And overall has brought a ton of revenue to the Lakers.

If a guy is bringing in all that revenue of course you acquiesce to his demands. He brought them back to relevance, brought a championship and his brand being the biggest most recognizable in the league was incredibly beneficial to the Lakers

What the Lakers did wasn't all that special. Every transcendent Superstar gets that kind of treatment. And if we're being honest they didn't even bend to his demands the way he wanted....none of the coaches they fired was even his preferred choice.....they struck out on every big move he wanted with the exception of AD who was literally orchestrated by him and his team and Russ who was also orchestrated by Bron and his team... and is the one move that he absolutely fukked up on and deserved to be held accountable for

Other than that Lakers have never been able to build a competent team around him without his assistance. And even the championship team that they accidentally built they gutted....wasted assets, was notoriously cheap. Overall just piss poor mismanagement

The one thing that had going was their loyalty to stars. They did right by Kobe and handed him the max at a time where he was no longer a max player. And even though Lebron will never be what Kobe was as a Laker....part of the reason the Lakers gave Kobe that contract was to send a message to future Superstars like Lebron that they would be taken care of even in the twilight of their career

So to now suddenly switch up that message and kick a Lebron in his twilight out the door is a bad look. If i'm Luka i'm looking at shyt like "they on my dikk now but the minute i get too fat and lose a step it's over for me:why:

BRON DIDNT DO SHIIT BUT FUCC OUR ENTIRE FUTURE UP FOR A 1 N DONE BUBBLE RING WIT MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF HEADACHES TO GO ALONG WIT IT... BASICALLY BROUGHT HIS CIRCUS TO OUR FRANCHISE ONLY TO DISAPPOINT FOR 6 OUTA THE 7 YEARS HE WAS HERE ... TRADED GOOD PLAYERS TO HIS LIKING INSTEAD OF BUILDING AN ORGANIC CORE ALA OKC.. FIRED QUALIFIED COACHES WHO WERE SCAPEGOATED... DRAFTED UNQUALIFIED PLAYERS AND HIRED UNQUALIFIED COACHES TO APPEASE HIM... ALL WHILE HAVING TO DEAL WITH HIS INSUFFERABLE BANDWAGGON FANBASE PRETENDING TO BE LAKER FANS.... ITS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE FOR DIE HARD LAKER FANS

WE HAD A CORE OF RANDLE, ZUBAC, CARUSO, HART, INGRAM, KUZMA, LONZO, CLARKSON WHEN HE ARRIVED

AND 3 MAX SLOTS!!

THERE WAS A WAY TO BUILD A DYNASTY OF PLAYERS WHO PLAY FOR THE NAME ON THE FRONT OF THE JERSEY

THATS SOMETHING THAT WAS NEVER POSSIBLE WITH HIM HERE..

WE ARE ALL EAGERLY LOOKIN FROWARD TO THE LUKA DONCIC ERA .. I BELIEVE BRON WILL PLAY 2 MORE SEASONS AND RETIRE, BUT THE WAIT FOR HIM TO BE OUTA HERE WILL BE WELL WORTH IT BECAUSE MARK WALTER IS A LEGIT OWNER WHO WILL BUILD AN ACTUAL TEAM.

Nah yall still don’t get it. When Magic came back in 96 he wanted to keep playing with Shaq and Kobe. Dr Buss said no, ITS OVER.

Bron hasn’t earned the right to try to strong arm us when we got Luka.

When you look back at his 7-years with the Lakers...
  • 1 run ending with an NBA bubble title
  • 1 run ending in a WCFs exit
  • 3 first round exits
  • 2 seasons missing the playoffs
That's ok but nothing a franchise like LAL will grovel over; really, they've been a designer brand version of the "MIL Bucks" of the same 7-year stretch but without the same adoration by the fanbase for the lone title.

The whole Bronny PR stunt last year felt like an adequate thank you tbh. They did right by Klutch/the James family with that. But once that was over and done with? It's seemingly like they washed their hands of them, same way they inevitably did with Shaq once they felt he'd worn out his welcome.

I remember the memes back then what all the nba stars with Laker jerseys on. But thank you for proving my point. None of your recent stats came here willingly.

Sure let us hold Wemby, he coming eventually anyways
It's clear Rich Paul is trying to sign him, surrounding him with nothing but klutch players and coaches. With the way you guys are trying to get rid of Bron I'm sure your name won't come up when he seeks Rich counsel :mjlol:

You about to spend 500 million and Luka and Reaves anyway :mjlol:
