I don't get this. He thought he'd be the face for 2+ more years? Lakers were always gonna bring someone else in since tanking wasn't an option. I'd imagine he never thought it would be a superstar like Luka but still.

Yep and that's why nothing gonna happen, a GM would have to be dumb as fukk to give up anyone valuable and the Lakers are dead set on clearing cap space moving forward. They pulled off a masterpiece. Trading THT for Pat Beverly..
The Same THT they let Alex Caruso walk for.....only to trade him for a 34 year old Pat Bev who they then traded halfway through the season (along with 3 2nd round picks) for Mo Bamba who they then let walk for nothing at the end of the year
