@Broke Wave come in here and explain the last hour of full retardation from your "goat" franchise. Somebody needs to suicide bomb that whole Buss family.

My franchise PF resigned a 3 year 30 mil deal so I'm not concerned with the Lakers... however...

The Lakers made 150 mil profit this year with Kobe in a suit. Considering that profit in a private corporation is essentially going to like 8 people, this is a big fukking deal. With Jerry gone, the Lakers have become less of a hobby and more of a business for the owners. That isn't to say that Jerry didn't treat it like a business, but his commitment was long term success instead of the quarterly success it appears Jim is seeking.

Mitch is a very adept GM so he really does what he is told. The tanking for the pick was really done quite masterfully as the Lakers were hovering around 500 at the beginning of the season for a while. With their inability to grab a marquee player in the draft they get a reno project in Randle, who may be good but doesn't put asses in seats. Kobe at age 35/36 can still sell out Staples every night but rather than contending for a title, the ownership wants to put the Lakers in contention for the most entertaining must watch team title. Adding Lin, a player who Kobe openly chastised is going to make the team must watch on opening day. Add to that the signing of Nick Young, a fan favourite/clown who really has zero impact for the team at large and you start to get a picture of what the franchise is looking for. The Kobe deal was to keep revenue in LA for the next two years and not for basketball reasons.

Lin on the Lakers with Kobe will probably bring almost as many viewers as Melo in LA, at least for the Asian market.

Props for being thick skinned enough to start this tread though. My hockey team went into the dark ages so long ago I hardly even watch them anymore (no playoff series wins since 1993):sadcam:
