I think it was the same with Dirk for a lot of his career. shyt isn't as deflating when there seems like there isn't much you can do I guess. Like KD just gonna shoot over you, can't expect much. Curry/Harden/Lillard/Kyrie all hitting crazy threes on you or doing something ridiculous at the rim. KD can deflate other teams with his pull up three or a defense play followed by a dunk, but not just via his scoring. Different for different players. Like with Kobe once he started hitting over double teams you could see the frustration on other players.

I agree with this. It's what separates defending Lebron from a Kobe. Lebron will just muscle through you and make a simple looking layup. It's like playing a nikka with maxed out stats when you ain't nowhere near it. You just like "Oh well, that's just the game"

Kobe is a dude that pulls off crazy combos despite not being mad overleveled which makes you just feel like your defense doesn't matter.

The Truth
Im gonna need Lonzo to go through an extensive offensive training regiment this summer...

Like literally, thats all he should be doing.

Dude is fine at everything else but he needs to get this shyt together. It's to the point where even I know he's gonna go to that stepback jumper..

He needs to call Kobe and honestly, he needs to get in the post.

I'd say it feels like your defense doesn't matter against Lebron types since at that point it feels like there isn't much you can do. With Kobe it feels like you are making a difference since you're contesting or you're in his face, then when he hits you're frustrated because you're basically thinking "well that's bullshyt", and if he keeps doing it then you start feeling your defense doesn't matter. See with Lebron you might feel that way the whole game, but with Kobe you might feel like you're making a difference at some point until you're not and when you're not you feel like you're doing everything fine or the same when he was missing but he's still getting it in over you, which is the frustrating part.

The same applies to Durant or guys like Giannis. Not much you can do. Kyrie? You feel like you're doing fine until he's at the rim hitting a reverse layup while contorting his whole body. You feel you did everything right and he still got it in over you when you thought you made him take a bad shot.
