Right now I gotta say Dreezy's "no hurt feelings" she got bars, she got slaps, she can sing, she got anthems for the shyt women be going thru, she got legit r&b. I'm thoroughly impressed
Edit: Dom Kennedy's "yellow album" had me like that as well..,hit play and from second one it was all![]()

Rap?
Lupe Fiasco's Pharaoh Height 2/30 Mixtape. talk about some shyt that came from out of NOWHERE. Lyrically and conceptually brilliant shyt. From the opening track with the Metal Gear V sample (okay, New Order sample too), to the dazzling ass storytelling ending track, Lupe danced all over this shyt and dared us all to dispute his claims at GOATness.
Non-Rap?
Recreational Love by The Bird and The Bee. I've been a huge fan of the group since their first album in 2006. Not many people have heard of them. They make what I like to call "Quirk Pop" music. Very sparse, very bare bones. Percussion and keys, mostly. They did 3 albums and a Hall and Oates cover album. lol It's only two people, Inara George sings and Greg Kurstin produces.
But trust me when I say, you HAVE heard Greg Kurstin's work over the years. Since that first Bird and the Bee album, he's produced:
Lily Allen's entire "It's Not Me, It's You" album
Sia's entire "We Are Born" and songs on "1000 Forms of Fear" albums, including "Chandelier" and her entire newest album "This is Acting"
Wrote and Produced for Lana Del Rey
"Stronger" for Kelly Clarkson
Co-Wrote and Produced "Hello" for Adele
anyway, Recreational Love showed how much he had REALLY grown as a producer and writer from then until now. It's interesting watching writers and producers work when they're making their OWN music for themselves.
Easily one of my favorite albums of the last 2 years.
erh... sorry. I don't get to talk about my favorite music enough.![]()
