Linear games = 0 replay value
Open world games = repeating the same bullshyt side quests collectathons and fetch quests 500 times so you can artificially have a longer play time while having 0 replay value
i played last of us 3 times, i rarely replay an open world game or finish completing after i beat the story. with that said, it is possible to blend both aspects. tomb raider did a great job and even uncharted made an attempt at opening things a bit.
