I’d actually prefer more intimate settings for these kind of games. The school mission was 1 of my favorite in TLOU2 just given how close everything was.
After playing thru 1R and getting into 2R in Order,I'd say Ellie gives herself up to the Fireflies while Abby and Lev make their way to them and in between its Flashes of Tommy and Joel(plus Marlene and Tess) pre Ellie Smuggling

A part 3 only really works with a new protagonist imo. You can still weave in Abby/Lev as supporting/side plotlines
