Damn, did they have to have this "take place" in Seattle? Why not say Vancouver? The distance to get there probably made it too unrealistic?

The second game is set primarily in Seattle, so the show is following the game. Also, many American TV shows and movies film in Canada because of the tax credits and because Canada looks like the US for the most part.

Seattle and Vancouver are similar to one another (though of course there are differences).

Also, Ellie and Dina's relationship is based on the second game (which I haven't played).

In real life, Bella Ramsey is "non-binary" and identifies as "not 100% straight". Also, Isabela Merced claims that her sexuality is "queer". Whatever that means. It's a vague term.

Season 1 implemented the agenda with the gay episode. This season is following the 2nd game pretty faithfully aside from the bad casting of Ellie and Abby.

that "sex" scene was one of the most perplexing and weird things I've seen in recent memory

As much as Show Ellie aint hitting like Game Ellie, ultimately its down to the director to get the actor to convey the mood/tone. If the shows too soft, if Ellie aint revenge filled and instead celebrating a pregnancy in the middle of a murder tour then thats down to Mazin and the directors not Ramsey

Don't like how they changed up the tone of the arrival at the theatre as well Dina telling Ellie she's pregnant. They shying away from the grittiness of the 2nd game to make this a generic zombie/survival show.

Yeah, that was jarring. They just barely survived, and then it turns into a teen romance drama with a sex scene

I'm not a fan of sex scenes in movies and TV shows in general but the one in episode 4 was even worse with the context

I don’t mind sex scenes or nudity…my issue is the arrival at the theatre and following scene

signifies Ellie’s descent into a bitter rage due to her want for revenge. She starts throwing her relationships with her friends to the wayside in the chase for Abby. The show didn’t convey that with this scene but they’re going in a different direction so we’ll see.
