I've said it before but Hollywood's always had a serious problem with writing likeable teenagers and that's currently hurting this show.

We got two teeny bopper leads where Ellie is just sassy, awkward, angsty and worst: obnoxious. And the other is this manic pixie dream girlfriend equipped with perfect makeup, costume, smile and hair during the apocalypse. And nobody's calling Ellie out on her bs when she does something stupid so there's no balance or comeuppance. It's just "There she goes again! Hah!"

There's a Joel sized hole in this show and they need someone to fill it. And before I get called sexist: I think a Mischonne type character (temperament wise) would help.
