Mazin probably wouldnt have been ready with a script in time anyway. He obviously dont know what he doing with this show/IP. How does he wait til now to say "we cant tell the full story w/o a season 4". That tells me he did some horrible planning and has no idea how to handle season 3.
So, they are going to end season 3 right at the farm...

Mediocre finale. Felt very rushed.

I did like Jesse sonning Ellie for most of it. Damn they wrote her so bad.

Those night shots were dope too with the boats on the water. Some bad dialogue tho especially between Isaac and the Asian lady.

And Abbey still sucks. She might be more annoying than ellie.

wait wtf?? so what was the point of this being 7 fukking episodes
Probably to milk the it. If you're going to milk it. Atleast greenlit season 3 and 4.

No good reason why it should take 8 years to make a cliffnotes version of two games.

The amount of convenience, plot armor, and forced idiotic logic this episode had :skip:

*knows Dina’s all fukked up, pregnant, alone…..sees 6 WLF shooters, almost runs out gun blazing for a shoot ‘em up gun fight…..not even coordination with Jesse*

*hears Tommie is actively in a gun fight, with WLF back up on the way…..naw, he’ll be aight, he tough right…..I gotta get hunt down this chick….who I have already been hunting down for 4 months, 5 more hours and saving Tommie can’t get in the way*

*heavy storm, hands all wet, wind blowing strong….sees two WLF in the distance on the dock, yea lemme turn my six shooter into a sniper real quick*

Good episode overall, but in the context of the entire show…this did not feel like a complete season. Felt like they stopped and wrapped only a 3/4th of the way thru.

I think the writer’s may be doing Ellie’s characters disservice by the amount of dumb moves she makes. I get it’s a part of her, but some of it is egregious, I’m sure there’s other ways to advanced the story.

As far as the actress playing Ellie, I thought she was great season 1….but now, and maybe it moreso due to 1) the writing of her character 2) Ellie’s supposed to be older, but the actress still looks 12……but post Joel getting killed, I’m less and less impressed with her performance.

You skipped over the biggest plot armor example. The psychotic Seraphites are ready to hang her and then have to leave and decide to just leave her alive like they wasn't just about to kill her.

Mazin made his job way harder than it should and in this finale it showed it was the wrong decision to follow the games narrative structure. Too little time and the inability to match the game's gameplay -because it would be ridiculous to see Ellie and the gang kill so many damn people in 3 days- just makes Ellie way too unlikable.

The TV audience never "was" her (as in, playing as her character) and didn't spend 30+ hours across two games feeling attached to her. They also didn't experience the rage/revenge we all did. At the end of the day, it was too tall a task to adapt the 2nd game the way they tried to do it this season.

7 eps of a lot of awesome highs but also a lot of non-HBO/elite TV lows. I hope they are able to bounce back from next season, but the story is so all over the place at this point that I have no clue how Mazin is gonna do it :manny:

Yeah without Ellie going through the battles she just seems like she has a lucky charm shoved up her ass. Like what's the point of all this if she can just magically escape situations to get to the next plot point?

At some point we're gonna need to see her in the mud sneaking behind dudes and shiving them up right lol.

The show's still amazingly shot and the acting is good. But we're getting towards final season Game of Thrones territory where the writing is letting things down.

And I'm a huge fan of TLOU2 game and had no issues with Abby. But the way thing are going they're not gonna be able to handle her journey either.

The show lost it's premium feel this season. Ever since we been stuck with Ellie it's like watching a cable tv series that comes on every Tuesday at 6 p.m
Yea, perfect captures the overall sentiment that I think a lot of people are feeling this season.

Aesthetically still top tier…writing wise, shyt would fit right in with AMC productions.
