Gave my thoughts on the spoiler thread. Just gonna say here that I thought this ep. was outstanding. Some things they didn't match up the level the game makes you feel but others I thought they did a better job of.

And I liked the added stuff of Jackson defending itself. As much of a TV action for the sake of TV action as it was, I think I prefer that level of excess and give them a pass for it than just 1 person going John Rambo on infected like you do in the game

To me, the show will always be trying to keep up with ND’s superior writing. Thats why I hold the games in high regard they never hold your hand with the narrative.

It’s crazy because I’d think it would be easier to do with a TV show, but they’re treating it the opposite of how I would think HBO would handle it. Think Neil folded under the pressure and HBO was scared to let the audience sit in the emotions the game made them.

Imma have to play through that long ass game again to restore the feeling

TLoU probably my second most played games ever (behind Destiny 2). Factions was incredible (until it kinda became pay to win). I’m saying that to preface what I’m going to say next:

do not watch this shyt with people that played/liked the video games. They’re largely insufferable because they’re not getting 1:1 of the shyt they played through. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from these fakkits

In the game, he never even found out who Abby was, she just fukking beath him to death - He never even knew why.

More heart wrenching in that version.

He kinda just came to terms with it in this version.

Whole heartedly agree. Gamers have honestly are clueless to the concept of acting, story telling, writing, and casting.

They want an EXACT 1:1 recreation or its TRASH.

Actors are supposed to interpret their own version of characters based on what the writers describe.

Ellie isn't exactly the same so she's trash. She looks different so shes trash.
