Just like the show limited the interactions with infected, and actually made it almost impossible to survive encounters with them. I think the show will also tone down on the amount of people Ellie kills in order to get to Abby.

I mean sure, she's gonna kill WLF soldiers but I'm pretty sure we are not gonna see her go into a building and take care of 15 people like you can do in the game :heh: Same goes for Abby.

I guess they gotta paint the Scars as a little soft so this frail Abby can beat their asses? :yeshrug:

yeah thats a good point, they made fighting the average zombie like a boss battle :russ:

20 things have to go in your favor to basically survive fighting one alone, and then you pray you dont trigger a horde. Pretty much all you can do is run now.

can you honestly explain why you and others can’t take constructive criticism on this franchise?

I don’t hate watch the show.
I actually thought season one was pretty good … especially the way they incorporated the open to each episode with giving a backstory on it. I thought it was clever and even brilliant at times

I even gave a 10 out of a 10 to episode one and the episode with Henry and Sam

my only issue with this franchise it’s about how this so-called world handled thus pandemic/outbreak & most importantly, the result of a 13 year old girl being sacrifice for a cure/vaccine that wasn’t 100% guaranteed

nobody in here has a problem with criticisms, it’s a very active thread full of healthy debate on the right and wrongs of what these characters are doing.

But You are clearly still very hurt by this games story, and it’s clear as hell to everybody in here that you just want an excuse to tell people why they’re wrong for liking and enjoying it. Go somewhere else breh you’re polluting the thread

She was “potentially” the vaccine or a stepping stone leading to one. There was no guarantee anything would have come out of their research, even though she was “like nothing they’d ever seen before”.

I understand both the fireflies and Joel’s reasoning. They’re human, and we don’t know what people are going to do under pressure, until they’re actually under pressure. I’m glad they left it up the gamer/viewer to decide if he’s a hero or villian. Joel was a hero to himself and a bunch of the people controlling him, while an idiot and villian to others.
You know it just hit me. Everyone argues from the standpoint of Joel or Abby. Yet I can't remember any of the Abby backers ever saying that they personally agree with/would be as selfless as Ellie. It's always "we needed Ellie to sacrifice herself" and not "I would've been fine being sacrificed".

It's very telling in hindsight.

Well, of course, most people wouldn't have sacrificed themselves or someone they are close to.

Anyway, Abby and her crew didn't know about Ellie, and that wasn't the reason why they tracked down Joel. It was purely about revenge (especially Abby because of her dad).

True

If it were me i’m not sacrificing myself for the good of humanity, especially as a black person whose dealt with racism. I want to LIVE.

And I wouldn’t sacrifice any child of mine either.

Which is why its good storytelling to have both Joel and Abby as complicated characters with good factors and bad factors and both have points of view that make sense.

As a matter of fact, if there is any criticism I can level towards the series its that it never really shows this “dark and cruel” Joel that everybody keeps referencing. Everything he does up to killing off the fireflies is pretty level and understandable. He never kills anybody just for the hell of it or out of bloodlust. He spares people who aren’t threats to him. He never robs anybody or cheats anybody. The Joel we meet in season 1 is pretty laid back until its time to get active. He’s not power hungry. Dude just wants to live quietly and protect his brother and later on Ellie.

We could have done with some flashbacks showing the darker, more ruthless side of Joel in the time before he met Jess when he and Tommy were doing any and everything it took to survive.

Nah, I think it’s just to build sympathy that you may ultimately regret having for them. They’ll show the atrocities that the Scars are committing too. Play up the theme of the game…of bluring the line of who is right and who is wrong.

Basically, I believe the remainder of the season will show disgusting levels of barbarism from all sides: Ellie, Scars, WLF…EVERYBODY.

Get ready.

Yeah, even in this latest ep Tommy said Joel would lash out and mask it as just trying to survive,
