I think they do it, but a condensed version. Finale is probably 90 min anyway
Nope. The finale (episode 7) is only about 50 minutes long.

In fact, episode 6 next week will be the longest of the season (about 1 hour), and that episode is mostly a flashback.

The actress that plays Ellie couldn’t give performance with that range of emotion Ellie had with Nora so they just removed it and tried to make her as cold as possible so it’s easier to perform. This is an example that some use to point out that ole girl is just a decent actor, she not killing this role. And they make small changes like that to compensate.
Lol I'm not gonna say that.. I think she could pull it off, they're just writing her slightly different.

In fact, rewatching it I think they purposely wrote the scene that way because we haven't really seen Savage Ellie to this point.

I do miss that nuance in the scene, showing that shyt was weighing on Ellie. And who knows, maybe they open the next episode with it by showing her and Dina as they did in the game.

Hopefully they don't wait to show the toll vengeance was taking on her until she catches up to Owen and the pregnant girl who's name I forgot.

For the breh(s) that were saying Abby was more focused on revenge instead of continuing her father's work at 19yo and reforming the world's top medical/science team, yall got yall answer this episode. Abby's father was the only one that couldve did that surgery. From Nora's response they didnt have confirmation that Ellie was real either. No fireflies, no scientist, not sure an immune person exists. Yea, her focusing on revenge instead of the cure makes sense.

"feel her love. Feel this bytch"

:mjlol:

Ellie's revenge tour getting better :blessed:

Yea i was wondering how they'd handle demon time Ellie in this grounded live-action setting... and they have not disappointed :ehh:

The actress playing her has grown on me.

And yea, even tho it's been years since i played the game, some of the sequences that happened in this ep jogged my memory. I have a fair idea now of what point of the game this season will end and, if so, it should be a lit finale. And will leave so much content to harvest/adapt for the next season.

Use thecoli as a diary to lament continuously watching a show you don’t like brehs.

u clearly don’t care about realism

So when Dina and Ellie got to the 25 year old abandoned store, they might as well have picked up a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread and a dozen eggs so they can make & eat a quarter of a century French Toast before heading to WLF headquarters

I haven’t reconciled it in my head yet. Maybe just do it in Seattle :yeshrug:
yeah they gotta change that whole scene up. The big reveal in Santa Barbara is how weak and sickly she is on that cross. After playing with this bytch and she seeming like a superhero for so long it’s shocking to see her like that.

But this Abby is tiny. That shyt will have no impact compared to the game. I could see them cutting it all out

Even if they cranked up a decades old stove, and turned on a faucet with clean water and a conveniently placed bottle of dish soap, to wash pristine pots and pans, and cooked a healthy ass breakfast, I would have applauded them!

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I've noticed I've been complaining about this show heavy in my last few posts in the thread. I don't hate this show. I think it's average-to-good. I'm just disappointed because it SHOULD be better. :yeshrug:

Somewhere tropic...
just like the actual video game, this show really loses steam after the joel situation played out. is is probably why I never finished the second game.
Bruh, the game is fire
one of the craziest revenge stories ever, really deep too
Its impossible for HBO to truly recreate it
