I guess you guys haven't been watching all the BTS with season 2. The 2nd game wasn't conceived to have two long separate campaigns. It was supposed to be switching perspectives, but Playtesters couldn't handle it.

The changes haven't bothered me but I do think that the way the game handles Ellie & Dina leaving was done better but it would've been less logical given the attack on Jackson.
Also, the scars outside of Lev & Yara are shown with little to no sympathy, so we'll see how they continue to show them.
