Joel said/hinted in the show he killed innocent ppl, he made it seem like it was in the name of surviving.

And Tommy’s speech when they first meet again at the Dam.

Tommy says 'I got nothing but nightmares from those days' and Joel says, 'You survived because of me.'

it’s one of those things where they ain’t gotta spell it out for you but you can connect the dots.

Joel says in part 1 he was part of a group like the Hunters that you run into. Ellie asks him if he ever killed innocent people and he says he’s been on both sides.
Facts.

They even cut some of the dialog from that convo where Joel straight up said he used to trap people just like the hunters did them. And the director himself said there are very few lines Joel hasn’t crossed at this point…

Basically think of something bad, and Joel has likely done it probably more than once. He’s never meant to be a good guy and some people don’t seem to process that well.

Yall in here arguing who is right and who is wrong...and that is a prime example of why the writing failed the game and kinda the show too. Which is the source of all the controversy in the game.

The point of this was supposed to be, nobody is right. But that seems lost on everyone which shows they didn't convey that well at all. I think the show tried to fix that by explaining Abby's motives early on but it didn't seem to work.

From Joel's perspective he was the hero and the fireflies were villains. From Abby's perspective the fireflies were the heroes trying to save everyone and Joel was a villain. From Ellie's perspective she's now the hero and Abby and her crew are the villains. But everybody only sees Abby as a piece of shyt so it all backfired.... again :mjlol:

Nah....folks was choosing houses when it came to Game of Thrones and all of them were a$$holes of a varying degree. People picking sides is just a side effect of our hyper-partisan culture now a days.

:snoop:

come on now you damn sure know that is bullshyt
abby‘s father, who’s part of the fireflies which was nothing more than a typical malicious group that did a whole Lotta bad shyt
and it’s no telling that even if he was able to come up with a vaccine how they would treat that amongst everybody who was or wasn’t part of their group
To the Fireflies the doc was a big part of their community and they did fool themselves into thinking they were going to save the world with a cure (as naive as that belief was). I don't think the game nor the show do that good of a job explaining why the group goes along with Abby's vendetta the way the do in the cabin but I also don't think it's hard to suspend disbelief for both the game nor the show :yeshrug:

I don't think they were necessarily fools.. Ellie was the only immune person they ever came across. And thinking it wouldn't work is just as big an assumption on the audiences part as thinking the vaccine would work. They didn't write it in anyway that would make the audience say it wouldn't work. In fact I'd say the opposite just to make what Joel did worse..

And they were truly just being good friends to Abby. Put yourself in her shoes, you don't have any friends that would be willing to go as far as they did? And even they had their limits..

Oh, I think a cure could've been found with Ellie. I just don't think the cure would've been able to be mass produced and distributed before everything went to shyt. The Fireflies thinking they had the capacity to pull it off was, to me, wishful thinking or messianic dreams on their part.

At least they could've been inmune in Salt Lake City though :bryan:

He's not her father. Mf knew her for a year and makes life decisions for her projecting his dead daughter onto her. It's her decision and now she gotta live in this miserable ass world immune to the surroundings while she watches the world fall apart. Selfish ass Joel wanting Ellie to be Sarah :beli:

15 year olds can't make life or death decisions :beli:

Joel did become her adoptive father whether you like it or not.

That same Doctor would never allow his own daughter Abby to kill herself at 15 for science yet he wanted to kill another young girl. And Abby.....how Kendrick say it, that golf club will never ease that pain :pachaha:

the best thing about this show is seeing the video game watchers completely malding at the fact that the tv adaptation isnt a 1:1 mirror to the game.

these basement dwelling losers are unsufferable lmao. the amount of disdain these butt plug losers have while trying to mask it as constructive criticism is hilarious.
