The last season of In the House was bizarre.

Looking back, it's strange the way the show went out and there's no explanation for it yet. Kim Wayans left, Maia Campbell left, Alfonso Ribeiro was shooting scenes without LL because he didn't like working with him. And it was only six episodes, which they released over a week in the dead of summer. I don't think the last season was even on UPN. They probably sold it to network affiliates. When did it even air, around 12:30 after Jerry Springer? :heh:

It's a shame because it was a good sitcom. It was like Fresh Prince reincarnated.

This was one of my favorite joints when I was a youth. Still remember my grandmother having this on VHS tape back in the day, and me and my brother taking the tape from her house back to our parents after spending the summer with our grandparents.

I didn't know LL had beef with Carlton???

Yeah, Alfonso said years ago that he had a hard time working on In the House because he felt like people (specifically LL) were only there to say their lines, get paid, and that's it. It wasn't like on Fresh Prince where everybody was dedicated to making the show better. LL was more focused on music at the time and by the end of the series, Alfonso had asked the producers to give him more scenes without LL because he couldn't work with him anymore. It was almost exactly like what Malcolm Jamal-Warner went through going from The Cosby Show to Malcolm & Eddie.

I actually started watching it late last year on Aspire. And yeah, The Coli is home to a lot of TV-watching motherfukkers like myself.

last season of Living Single was shyt. So we’re the last couple of seasons of Martin and Girlfriends.

The dumb shyt behind the scenes ruined a few decent black shows.

even Good Times dealt with it
Martin was good until the very end. Martin only had one bad episode, and that was the Tommy/Sheneneh car accident episode. Living Single was still funny but they lost that spark when the producers fukked over TC Carson. Good Times just fell off a cliff after James died.

Neither did I. It seems like LL had a massive ego problem, because we all know about the fight with Jamie on the set of Any Given Sunday.

This post made me think about What's Happening, because the same thing happened to the cast of that show. Rerun felt like he was the star and should be getting paid more, they got rid of Mabel King when she was supposed to be the moral center of the show, and the producers were a bunch of white guys that didn't want the show to touch on anything racial.

Then when they came back for What's Happening Now, Rerun wanted to get paid $1 million an episode and they fired him after the first season.
