:salute:Well deserved, he was actually really underrated.

I saw him at a house show in 1999, and in some ways he kinda stole the show even though he was in some throwaway midcard match. Dude was working the crowd better than any other heel on the card, just subtle heel tactics that you might not even notice if you were watching on TV. He got one of the biggest reactions of the night.

Anyway, I told a story here a few years ago about an interaction I had with him at that show. Good time to repeat it, I guess.

I was at a house show in Toronto, I wanna say in 1999. I was with my girl, who was a casual wrestling fan at the time. We had seats right along the rail of the aisle where the wrestlers head to the ring, so we saw everybody up close and slapped hands with a few of the babyfaces (both of the Hardy Boyz if I remember correctly. I had no idea at the time how much I'd grow to hate Matt, but I digress).

Anyway, the storyline involving Big Bossman and Al Snow, where Bossman killed Al Snow's dog Pepper and tricked him into eating it, had just wrapped up. Bossman was on this card, obviously a heel, and when he was introduced and walking down the aisle, my girl, for a laugh, yelled out "WHERE'S PEPPER?". Bossman (probably 6'6") stopped in his tracks, walked over to us with an intimidating look on his face, stared down my girl (5'3") and started to raise his nightstick. I was already laughing at this point, but my girl was standing up to him with a smile on her face.

After a few seconds you could tell Bossman the Heel was trying his best not to smile. He turned and left for the ring before it could happen. Can't remember who he wrestled, but I'm pretty sure he won, and at the end of the match when he was walking back up the aisle getting booed he pointed his nightstick at us and kinda smirked.

Bonafide.

No question.

Dude was just a staple in the 80s and 90s... seemed like he was there forever and he always quietly put on matches that drew you in. Rarely main eventing or chasing a championship, just solid fukking work building stars and working emotive angles.

When I came back during the Attitude era after most of the mid-90s away I laughed seeing him still out there taking chairshots and getting hardcore, but he won me over QUICK. Guy could tell a story plain and simple.

That hanging spot at WM15 is still raw. :damn:

The Nailz angle had me properly .:lupe: as a kid.

Twin Towers with Slick were one of the GOAT big teams, even if the whole African Dream thing was a bit :mjpls:

Legend. Should've BEEN in.

When I thought of "pro wrestlers" growing up, I thought of guys like Undertaker, Vader, Warrior, Hogan, Savage, Flair, Mr. Perfect, Bam Bam, and Bossman. Guys with gimmicks that transcend to their ring work and made you suspend belief.

Dude was a classic.

That's my chihauhua cooking, casket stealing, getting hanged by Taker fukkery GOAT :to:

I'm still weak that he dropped the "I'll get you and your little dog " from Wizard of Oz during the Pepper angle.
