Although I don't completely disagree with you, using Stockholm syndrome is a little too dismissive of the situation and removes agency from what are mostly willing participantsA lot of non-black minority groups in America have stockholm syndrome when it comes to white people.
it is what it is if you notice they only cry racism when a cac do cac shyt to them instead of us being the buffer.
symptoms of SS
- Positive feelings toward the captors or abusers.
- Sympathy for their captors’ beliefs and behaviors.
- Negative feelings toward police or other authority figures.
lets replace it with this
sounds like a lot of non black american poc
- Positive feelings toward the white supremacy ideology .
- Sympathy for them and there beliefs and behaviors.
- Negative feelings towards biggest victims/fighters of white supremacy ideology. (black folk)
There are too many blind spots in racism that allow everybody to play dumb when it comes to egregious shyt. The space for these blind spots is a large part of the brilliance of racism as a system
Latinos, like any other minority group know the game is
1. White, the social ideal
2. Black, the pariah, the criminals, the "don't be like them" class
3. The buffers, everyone else
The crux of the game is: You can't be WHITE, but you can live a pretty good life if you participate in a system that often treats black people bad. Or, at the very least, playing dumb about their treatment (until you need something from us)
The buffers are fully aware of this dynamic and play the game accordingly. It's not about thinking white people are their friends, it's a silent agreement that everyone is in on
