I'm pretty sure I won't like it more than P4G. P4G resonated with me strongly from the second the main menu loaded up until the credits rolled(twice.) I'm not saying it isn't amazing(it probably is but I'm early in it so far), but as far as being best. Nah, I don't think anything will move me from Persona 4 Golden.

Persona 4 is a visual novel strapped onto a dungeon crawler. It's basically a gateway drug for people to get into visual novels. The game has three aspects, a traditional JRPG story, the visual novel side, the dungeon crawler side. In fact my least favorite aspect of the Persona games is the visual novel part. I think it's a crappy visual novel especially when actual good ones like Virtue's Last Reward exist.I don't want to hear anything about persona being a dating sim and dungeon crawler.
I wouldn't necessarily say that original Trails in the Sky is better than Persona 4 but there are a lot of things the Trails series is flat out better at than the Persona series. At one point in P4 you go back to the school from P3. The whole Trails series has that sort of interconnected feel to it.
Trails also has a better story overall and better characters than Persona. Both Trails and Persona are very anime trope heavy but when you really look at it Trails goes further towards breaking those tropes and digging deeper into them.
I'll put it like this after playing Cold Steel if today I could have one game released right now including Persona 5 my choice would be Trails of Cold Steel 2 and I wouldn't even think twice about it. I want that game now.
The Trails series is a lot like the TV series LOST. The developers have this supposed plan for it and they know how many games it'll be and there's an overarching story with tons of mysteries. As you play they constantly introduce new plot threads and there are almost always more questions than answers.
If you include Trails in the Sky SC in the thread title you'd be right. SC is to me a top 5 JRPG ever made. The original Trails in the Sky is not but it's required to make SC the exceptional game it is.
SC single-handedly vaulted the Trails series to my favorite JRPG series. It's crazy that a company with less than 50 employees can put out games this good with shoestring budgets yet a company like Square Enix has ridiculous budgets and in comparison churns out crap JRPGs. (not saying Final Fantasy is actual crap but if you compare it to Trails it makes it seem like crap)

At 25 hours SC is probably headed into the meat of the game. After you know the identity of all 5 enforcers the quality of the game goes up drastically.25 hours into SC. This is one of the best RPGs I've played ever. I'm not being hyperbolic here. I have to ask, is Cold Steel really comparable and just as good?

Cold Steel II is compared to SC. Cold Steel isn't on the level of SC but it's way better than FC to me. Cold Steel is like what would happen if you fused Persona and Trails. The problem with Cold Steel is the plot moves slowly and a lot happens as you get closer to the end and the cliffhanger is brutal.
Third Chapter is confirmed. Just beat SC yesterday and this was confirmed to be released today

Story took some interesting turns. Early on, I legit thought it would be about the Sky Bandits the whole way through. The party member changes with each chapter was nice. I wish I could've used some of those characters for more of the game. I also enjoyed the combat.

Breh...once you get into SC the story really takes off. Probably one of the best stories I've played in an RPG.I beat this game a little over a week ago. Got 100% achievements

I've started playing trails of cold steel. Its a great game though I liked the characters in Trails in the Sky better. However it does a few things better too. 30 hours in right now and story is really picking up
