I stalled on this game for months at the start of the finale and finally decided to finish it before the sequel releases in February and the finale is very long. The game just doesn't know when to stop. It's also becoming extremely repetitive. They really could have shortened this up. Feels like they had a quota to make a 100 hour game and padded it to hell to reach it. The finale is easily 15-20 hours long.

It feels like each added game in the series overstays its welcome. I don't even know if I'm gonna play through daybreak 2.

It took about 15 hours playing the finale to just reach the final dungeon. Granted I've been doing everything in terms of sidequests I got 97 and a half hours on the clock. I got the trophy for doing all 4SPG quest and AAA level Arkride solutions level so I'm anticipating just shy of 100 hours to full completion.

I think the game would have been better served being 60-70 hours. The original Sky games were that for complete runs.

These damn forbidden words you can’t understand when “others” say them are driving me crazy.

I caught hell on that final boss. Most difficult of the series for me. Glad the game has an actual ending point though and doesn’t just abruptly stop like some of the other titles in the series.

Heard bad things about Daybreak II unfortunately though. Sounds like it might be worse than Cold Steel II.

I was a fan of the earlier games but this series is becoming convoluted and bloated and it doesn't have to be that way.
Well, honestly, the worst of it was Cold Steel III, Cold Steel IV and Reverie. Although, Reverie was the only one of the 3 with a decent story and writing. The amount of bloat and rehashing that Cold Steel III had been insane. The writing drop and bloat in Cold Steel IV was awful.

I haven't played the series since I played the fan translation of Kuro 1/ Daybreak 1 and IMO it follows more in tune of the two Crossbell games.

Though given what I heard from Kai no Kiseki which is a followup to Daybreak 2 I got fears that the bloat that I mentioned about Cold Steel 3+4 is coming back.

This will be at minimum another 4 game arc. They learned nothing from having Cold Steel be that long.

Some games don’t have any voice acting. They do what they can this isn’t AAA game development here.

I'm at ch2
My biggest complaint with the game is the battle system. Field battle feel like a slog, the uncertain order when casting art, did not realize you can't steal turn bonuses like the other game.

Game been solid so far
