Yeah, him winning the belt at All In seems to be the plan. Mox's reign being 10 months long is so fukking stupid though.
I don’t think the fans are going to wait that long. Look how it’s been the last several weeks. Dumbass Tony should just alter the plan because it might get worse for them despite the undercard looking good.

shyt, even give someone a transition reign for a few weeks and have Mox win in back closer to All In would be something worth experimenting on.

i agree with you. tho i wonder if they can build up a big enough heel to make the moment worth it. there's apparently a lot of hope for Darby so choosing the right opponent is important. the long length of time def hurt. they could give the belt to someone else but then maybe they'll go to a face and then a heel again before the darby match. Mox prolly the biggest heel they got considering everything and taking Darby title shot. they would have to find someone that can be as big a heel for that type of moment. unless they pivot and go back to darby in the future. who knows. hopefully things work out for the best.

I think given they could've just written Darby out explicitly for climbing Everest but chose to have the Death Riders throw him down a staircase to give him a kayfabe injury they at least intended at that point for Darby to come back and win.

I guess they're hoping that after 10 months Mox IS that heel (or people will just be relieved)

Internet will eat its own tail and convince itself they're gonna pivot for every side quest until Arlington :yeshrug:

It was dumb to try to run a big show in Australia when the market isn’t the same as the UK. If you’re not the E you’re not gonna make a splash outside countries that really love wrestling.

I mean, no one should be surprised it’s not a PPV because it hasn’t been booked like it, plus it does have Grand Slam in the title. It was also a bad move to book Staples weeks later. The show is almost a month away and even though the storylines are there, nothing has been announced besides Mox/Edge (:scust:). I think Take/Omega and Swerve/Rico will be on the card. Booking two shows within weeks in those cities isn’t ideal.

First real failure for AEW. Let’s see how the Texas show does and even the Staples show.
Biggest failure for the Grand Slam show is that they booked it NBA All Star Weekend. It's a million+ dollar gatem and they got paid to go there, so it's probably at worst a break-even event for them.

Texas show is a million dollar gate from the presale along, it's going to end up being easily their third highest gate ever behind the two London All Ins. And they probably got paid for it or got a sweetheart deal on the stadium given how closely they are working with the city on the show.

If it’s not a sellout it’s a failure. :troll:

I forget these companies get paid to do shows in certain cities. Kind of :patrice: that cities pay them because isn’t that tax payer money? :leostare:

I think the biggest mistake was thinking Darby needed a "big heel to overcome". When it comes to underdogs like him, specially one that means so much to the AEW fanbase, you can get away with building around him finally winning the belt without some big angle or program behind it. Him beating a babyface isn't gonna diminish his W. That's why him going over Danielson was good idea, specially in Seattle.

If anything, TK had set up Darby winning the title by finally beating MJF with a side headlock. Forcing Mox into this position really makes no sense.

But Tony gonna Tony so they better hope something changes after Revolution :manny:

I wouldn't actually mind them giving JJ a big babyface retirement send off like for Sting but please not if it's going to be weeks of him telling other wrestlers their mom is a "call girl" :flabbynsick: :scusthov:

Na, JJ isn’t worth a Sting-like retirement sendoff. He’s a HOF in his own right, but not on the level of Sting.

You’re still going on about Darby beating Bryan? :dead:

If Darby won then, we’d have to suffer through Mox now. What big match do you do at All In? Crowning Os makes sense, but Darby gets lost in midcard because Os needs to have months with a reign.

I’d have Os dethrone Mox now. Push Mox/Darby to the upper midcard feud when he comes back. Milking the Mox dumb shyt another several months isn’t gonna be a good look. :scust:

If TK is set on Darby winning at All In, just give Os a quick reign to keep fans interest; I wouldn’t even mind seeing the belt hot potatoed. Give Mox the belt back a month or 2 before All In. Nobody wants another several months of Mox’s bullshyt as champ. :francis:

It could be Darby vs Ospreay, or vs Omega. My point is you don't need a big heel for him to overcome and make his title win feel big. And I think that's why Moxley was able to get into TK's plans and get away with his bs.

And why would we have to endure a Mox title reign in any ideal scenario? :dwillhuh:
