I really like Deonna. Met her last year. She's a really good worker and an absolute sweetheart of a person.

That being said, she's done nothing to make herself stand out since her signing. So I'm not surprised she's where she's at right now. And I really liked her feud with Thunder Rosa. But everything else from her has been unspectacular to put it nicely :manny:
I can't get past her apparent body dysmorphia. She is pretty clearly overweight but wears ring gear designed for someone shaped like Queen Aminata. All it does is make her look even fatter than she actually is and it's frankly distracting.

Just read that in October, Moxley's total time in AEW will surpass his total time in WWE :dwillhuh:

2012 Survivor Series. I was thinking it was a later Survivor Series. I believe All In was 2018 but he still would've been there. I know he debuted at original DON in 2018. Not sure how much time he was gone from WWE at that point. Crazy to think the times have been nearly equal especially with how fast it seems to have flown by. Not sure if he has the same accolades if he would've stayed tho especially with Roman holding the belt for so long. Prolly would've been heavily involved on Raw.

Was thinking of this and I seen some Tiktoks in the past regarding athlete crossovers for like baseball and basketball. It made me think of wrestling especially WWE versions whether it be matches or just being on the roster together and any crazy ones there might be. Like for example one in NBA is how Lebron has played against a player and then against their son some years later.

So in wrestling like WWE it be, oh this guy had a match against wrestler A and wrestler B, and both guys are people so far removed from time that you would think that weren't possible. History has it too where you think of one person and then another and it didn't seem like both their lives crossed but they actually did. Like one example is Kevin Garnett played at same time as both Magic Johnson and KAT, when those two are so separated from time themselves. So that type of thing for wrestling would be interesting.

I don't like comparing the two because there's always gonna be shyt I rock with in both promotions and people get hurt feelings over stan shyt.... but I'll say this much. The rosters look a lot alike.

And why wouldn't the rosters look alike? AEW and WWE have been swapping talent like crazy over the past few years. The idea that AEW is all cruiserweights and WWE is all giants couldn't be further from the truth now.

These are guys who are on WWE programming every week: Gargano, Gable, Ciampa, Escobar, Rey, Dragon Lee, Balor, Tozawa, Motor City Machine Guns, Rey Fenix, JD McDonagh, etc.. I'm probably forgetting more. They have a lot of smaller guys now. Which is whatever to me, I've never been one of those size queen weirdos lol.

The rosters are the rosters - that's just what wrestlers/athletes look like in 2025, especially if they don't want to die before they see 50.

WWE still has that pipeline from football which gives them access to a few more monsters though I guess.

The comparison is really in how they get used... but I like that being different. It's not about better or worse for me most of the time.

I saw someone new to AEW on BlueSky the other day trying to explain to the AEW stans why she still leans to WWE/NXT (for the heavier storytelling outside of the ring mainly) and the amount of responses she got from neckbeards trying to tell her she was "wrong" or "not a wrestling fan" was insane to me.

The great thing about having two major companies is we get two visions of pro-wrestling and talent and audiences can gravitate towards the one that suits them best.

Wrestlemania angles the size of Hogan/Savage and The Bloodline and All In main events like DB/Swerve where you could solely watch the match and get 95% of the story.

If AEW starts trying too hard to be WWE or WWE starts trying too hard to be AEW they'll only shoot themselves in the foot. :yeshrug:

Edit: damn that got long. I gotta get more concise. :pachaha:

There's definitely a big difference between AEW and WWE far as what you can expect from in-ring work. WWE is going to rely more in their main events on spectacle and dramatic pauses, which is fine because I expect that. AEW is going to rely more on the actual workrate. AEW is also going to do more matches that have blood and dangerous spots, though the WWE will do them once in a great while.

I appreciate that there's different flavors to choose from.

It's gotta be good for talent too - there are people who have charisma out the ass but will never even have a 4* Meltzer match and for 90% of wrestling crowds that's a star. WWE can take them to the moon.

But then there are the 5* wrestlers who only show their star power when the bell rings... AR Foxx would probably get lost in the shuffle in WWE, he's fine outside the ring, but he doesn't force his way to the front of anything... he still gets booked to lose all the time, but he's loved by AEW fans because the one thing he really knows how to do is put on a fukking banger.
