Once again the international market lifting up AEW :wow: Dynamite for Manchester (in freaking December) started at 6.5k sold :wow:

Stark contrast to the U.S, where they book a very small building Florida for next month and didn't even get 400 tickets sold in the advance :picard:

Brother while I feel you we gotta address Manchester is one of the UK's biggest metro areas and cultural centers.

The Manchester Co-Op is now the biggest indoor arena in Europe or close to it. Definitely the biggest in the UK now bigger than the 02 in London where Forbidden Door was.

Versus sleepy Lakeland Florida and there 100k people:pachaha:

One of these events just by location and venue promises to be one of the absolute biggest and most special of of the year - the other is Lakeland :whoa:

I'm 99% sure the only reason they're running a show in Lakeland is the venue they're running for the Dynamite 6th Year Anniversary is booked for the weekend.

Just like last time, when comparing the PPV attendance from UK vs U.S, I'm just pointing out the obvious contrast between the overseas business vs the U.S business.

If the thing is that AEW can't expect anything in the U.S except in big cities, that's still an issue that shouldn't be hand waived :manny: on one hand you have St. Louis show not even moving 100 tickets last week after a really poor advance, but on the other there's an Indiana Dynamite in December that had a good advance (for today's AEW standards), it might be something bigger than "well the place they chose had no shot of doing anything".

Comparing massive special big city attraction foreign shows to b-shows in d-towns is no sort of comparison though. :dead:

Show me what AEW would draw in a community center in Burnley the day after a big Dynamite if you want to go apples to apples here or something :russ:

I think it's pretty damn interesting how AEW has done greatly in Australia, México, the UK and done better in Canada when compared to the U.S. You look at past Canadian tours and those were more much more dire than the current one, probably because they learned their lesson and reduced the amount of shows.

The contrast of cold in the U.S and hot overseas is worth exploring, imo :manny: specially because the could be doing mediocre or straight up bad business outside of the States and it's the complete opposite.

International fans are more appreciative when they do receive a show since it's so rare. I know we don't get one here often so hopefully the event does well. Like 2.5 years since last. They also get more sales as day draws closer so hopefully that'll help. No hope for Lakeland tho. Not sure what they were thinking. They could've filmed Collision on Thursday instead and prolly drawn more fans.

I don't think it's that interesting at all. Of course one off big shows in foreign markets are better than shows in the domestic one. Why wouldn't they be?

That's why I say it's no comparison. You're comparing specialized markets where people are treating events as potential once in a lifetime occasions versus regular ole touring stops.

No one in Australia, Manchester, or Mexico has literally ever had the opportunity to see a AEW show before, and they don't know when they will again. No one in the United States has that motivation.

And you basically explain it with the Canada situation. When they tried to do small towns in Canada it didn't work. Fewer shows in big cities do bigger numbers.

Dynamite 6YA is at the Hard Rock Casino. AEW doesn't do that well in SFL to begin with. The cost of two nights there plus the potential reward couldn't have looked right. The only upside for Lakeland is it will cost basically nothing, and all the crew heading back to Jacksonville is just taking a detour back up from SFLA so logistics is a wash.

Maybe they're hoping the sickos who go to NXT house shows come out?
