Might be for the best actually. Prefer Shane being behind the scenes if he were to be involved. Especially with the new streaming stuff happening. He can help them on there or just improving their video department overall.

Let’s play devil’s advocate here, if Shane was the plan, why would anyone tell it to anyone? That would be really dumb. What you would actually do is deny it to try to get people to not expect it anymore so when it does happen it’s actually a surprise.

making their biggest PR guy look like a total fool isn't smart business. It's one thing to say "sources say they haven't heard anything new in regards to Shane McMahon" because then that gives plausible deniability, comes off like things are being kept super close to the vest, its not an outright denial. But to outright say its not the destination is putting Dave in a position to look like an idiot if you end up doing the opposite
