I’m sure his point was that WWE had a bad day and they did. The show would not have occurred last night if not for All in Texas. NXT wrestlers as a collective has the lowest buzz now they’ve ever had since NXT started. They’re only hurting themselves. Blame the bookers if fans discuss things besides what’s on the air.
All I know is I look at the Cagematch ratings for NXT yesterday and it looks one it was a pretty good show. The reviews also speak very highly of it. Those wrestlers work hard and put on a hell of a show that deserves to be the center of attention for the day
Instead it has barely been talked about on here with the thread having a post count that looks like it was a weekly episode of TNA for crying out loud.
It’s barely been talked about on Bluesky.
The general wrestling accounts that live cover US wrestling were largely ignoring NXT on Bluesky.
All the major YouTube wrestling accounts I follow all were either covering All In live on YouTube, went to All In for the media blitz and stayed to watch the show, or opted to watch All In live to have a review show go live on YouTube afterward. If they did anything to cover NXT it wasn’t until today.
NXT talents deserved better. Instead they got thrown to the wolves as a sacrificial lamb because WWE cares more about trying to hurt AEW than they care about NXT.
And it once again backfired because AEW just drew nearly 30K people to set their North American attendance and gate record, likely set a PPV buy rate record, and were the talk of the wrestling universe yesterday.
