Tbh I think it's better for the Internet for idiots like us not to know, but it blows my mind when he says Max doesn't share the data with their creators.

How do these streaming companies expect long-running shows like wrestling to keep catering to their audience if they can't see which segments are drawing/losing? :why:

The streamers are thinking in the context of not wanting creators to know where they stand vs. everything else in detail because then the creators and actors have all of the leverage at the negotiation table.

The beards online aren't aware that this was all discussed during the Hollywood writer's strike. They give them the bare minimum and that's it. It's left to people like Nielsen to try to figure out what the real numbers are but those are often just educated guesses.

Even when Netflix releases numbers it's all types of "streamer math" attached to them. And like @Jmare007 if they did put out detailed reports there would likely be NDAs

So when a reporter says "Are you at a million with max factored in" all Tony can really say is "I know what they tell me, that we do well vs. other sports"

If they are doing 700K or whatever on TBS then it's likely they are over a million combined.

I was thinking it probably helps when you're trying to cancel a popular show if the creators don't know how popular it really is, but it still weird to me.

I've worked in technology all my life and mfs like Netflix love collating and using data in whatever way they can to make more money... if they closed the loop to include creators we'd have a TV channel that makes you feel like you're on heroin by now.

Viewers knowing the figures is the root of all IWC evil though. Cut us the fukk out.

Realistically, I'm going to guess they get somewhere between 100-150k people at most watching on HBOMax. I've said it numerous times on here, but any numbers a streaming platform releases are bullshyt that should be taken with a grain of salt. Netflix is notorious for twisting their metrics to make anything look favorable.

I don't want to spend a lot of time on it but even Brandon Thurston who doesn't like Tony very much these days is saying he has no clue what 'Dynamite' does on max because of what I was saying previously, it's in the streamers best interest to not share too much info if they don't need to. He admits that a third party (this is where the BJ Bethal report comes in) can try to measure it in a way but it wouldn't be 100% accurate

Not surprising that Newark doing well. Major metro area of NYC and also not far from Philly. St Louis got nothing around it but some farm land. Plus FG an A tier show. They'll prolly have a great AO, mediocre WD, then great FG. No need to do anything crazy at WD.

I wouldn't mind if they just got rid of 'WrestleDream'. I just don't see the point out of it anymore.

For god's sake just make up your mind about these guys.

Stans are now trying to have a gotcha moment because the 2300 Arena is having issues with their workers and not getting paid, meanwhile NXT had an event several months back and the arena had the same issue and no one bats an eye.

If these wannabe podcasters/talking heads did ten seconds of research they'd see that Tony Khan said he was doing the ECW Arena to pay homage and that his dad took him there when he was a kid. Tony was even showing off pics of the last time he was in the building.

After 6 years they still don't get that Tony was a big wrestling fan and that's why he started this company :mjlol:
