"Since Billboard accounts for streaming data in its album chart, The Life Of Pablo could make history as the first album to grab the top spot on the chart without a physical release. Chart News predicts thatTLOP will accumulate 90 million streams, which translates to roughly 60,000 albums on the chart. Kanye's main competition for No. 1 will reportedly be Chris Stapleton, who got another prime time TV boost at last weekend's ACM Awards, and Lukas Graham, whose debut album includes "7 Years"—currently the No. 2 hit in the country." Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo Likely To Make Historic No. 1 Debut

Also on track for 90M streams from Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud, etc. If this counted the 250M+ Tidal numbers and whoever bought the album from his site, he'd probably be around 150K units at least. Ye lives, y'all die

150k is still low for Ye. Didn't Gates do 100k? You can't be doing MSG and a million in a week pop up shops and then your album do less than 300k. The numbers aren't adding up to all the work that's been put in.
Kevin Gates did not do 100k in streams, he did 22k in streams.
Bieber did 122k in streams.

Not really any work at all. No consistent date of release, not much actual promotion other than his twitter and a horrible version of G.O.O.D Fridays, sales obv didn't matter to Kanye as he didn't have a commercial release. Seems like the whole release has been more about trying to set a new standard of doing albums, which I can applaud from an innovating standpoint.

I fukk with TLOP heavy but You'd be lying to yourself if you didn't think 150k for a month and a half where the world has been focused on Kanye looks funny in the light

Breh....he will have had at the very least 340 million streams by the time the numbers are released

that's about the population of this country

I think you're focusing too much on the conversion to units thing

No. That's not it but I'm not going to continue to go back and forth. My opinion isn't going to change. Congrats to Ye. I'm happy in the direction he's going but he should have sold more. We'll see when the final numbers come out. I honestly don't trust the streaming number reports. Anything digital can easily be manipulated. I'm not saying that against Kanye because I streamed the album so many times on Tidal but in general it's very hard to hold anyone accountable for streams. It's really a difficult metric to convert into an actual sale or legitimate impression.

Okay some of yall in this thread are really stupid. TLOP is predicted to do 150k in streams, not in total sales. 150k in pure streams is actually a huge number! You can't buy it at digital outlets or a physical. This is a major W for Ye if this happens
