So many millenials are reminiscing of their prime party/nightlife years- the good old days from 10-15-20 years ago

And gen z finally admits they’re jealous and envious of millenials, and wishes that they were teenagers/young adults 15-20 years ago.

Google search about millenial optimism- here it is :

@Soldier
between 2002 and 2014, People from all walks of life were more talkative, adventurous, social, open, normal, carefree. Not staying it was perfect but people behaved normally in social situations. You still had to go out to socialize and have fun because in-house entertainment options at home were still more or less limited ( unlike now) even with new technology coming up every 3-4 years or so . Video games, DVDs, PS2, PS3, XBOX 360, GameCube, Wii and internet at home( computer) . Now with modern iPhones/smartphones, you have endless information/knowledge/porn/social media/distractions at your fingertips, at your disposal, you can be a total hermit/recluse and stay inside all day without talking to someone and be entertained. There’s no more motivation or incentive for many people to go out and get out of their comfort zone anymore. The combination of High speed affordable internet/Social media/modern smartphones made people more timid, lazy and introverted. People don’t feel that need to meet people now, their social skills are inexistant . Netflix was not as widespread/popular back then too. Malls, blockbuster videos, arcades, nightclubs, underground raves, bars, movie theaters and concert halls were poppin.

2002-2014 was a period of transition between the old era of media/ communications and the new era that started in 2015-16 when instagram, twitter, Snapchat, streaming( twitch), TikTok, vine started to dominate people’s lives. And YouTube/ instagram/TikTok/ vine social Media influencers became larger than life.

We enjoyed the convenience of modernity and tradition. We had the best of both worlds. Tinder/ hinge didn’t exist back then but plenty of fish, blackplanet and okCupid did. Blackberries and early Nokia smartphones weren’t as advanced and addictive as the ones we have now so the ability to enjoy moments in real life wasn’t affected. It didn’t take over our lives at all. Phone Internet at the time was very expensive and slow. And with these basic flip phones or blackberry phones, the only two things you could do was text and call. And social media wasn’t as ubiquitous and the the monster it is now. It was limited and confined to the physical internet( computer) and inaccessible through Nokia/blackberry. You had to stay inside at home sitting on a chair to use the computer and browse twitter/Facebook/MySpace/msn messenger and online forums. Now you can be in a club, beach resort, tourist attraction or festival and still be able to doomscroll social media slop because it is available at your fingertips
