I see brehs discussing day trading options, and quick flips in the other investing threads. Some even admitting they don't even know what the hell they're doing. I don't see that ending well for a lot of folks.

This is for brehs in it for the long haul, who intend to buy and hold for the long term.

Here's my current positions -

Index/ETF's:
VTSAX
QQQ
VGT

Individual stocks:
AAPL
MSFT
V
FB

Short-Term Gambles (I know, I know, contradictory to the thread title, but this is a small percentage of my portfolio):
OPES
SHLL

Waiting for a good entry point to get in:
TSLA, SQ

Here is where I stand. I trade almost solely off of technicals though, so if the long term chart starts looking basura, I'm jumping ship with max indifference. If it looks great though, I'm working on staying in positions longer.

Index/Mutual Funds - [401k / HSA / Regular Vanguard Account]
LIVKX (Most of my money is in here)
VSMAX
VSMPX
VTIAX
VFIFX

Individual stocks [eTrade Roth IRA]
WTRH - Purchased 6/23
OMI - Purchased 7/7
GRWG - Purchased 7/7 (60% of my $ is in cash, but this is the largest stock position. I'm realizing when posting in this thread that I bought 2x what I wanted and so I am down 2x the $$ that I want to be. Barring a strong move higher at the open, I'll likely close the entire position out tomorrow)

Waiting for a good entry point to get in - [eTrade Roth IRA]

Personally, although I'd advise against it, I might liquidate all my positions and sit in cash if the markets start to head south in a major way. I did this in February and missed most of the recovery rally, so I can definitely get burned by doing it, but I don't have much faith on the US economy for the near future. I'd rather trust my gut and lose money than ignore my gut and lose money

I sold SHOP at $800. big mistake. :stopitslime:

I feel like it's ine of the most expensive stock now. Hope they crash so i can get in again.

My portfolio is way too aggressive. I gotta start getting into safer stocks. I was into dividend stocks, but i just couldnt let go of growth stocks.

Yeah I can see why you sold it
used to be a swing trading stock for me back in 2018 because it had clear rises and falls
but then I started looking into the company and realized It wasn't that bad of a platform

before February it kept staying under like $800 so I thought that was the ceiling too but after the corona drop, I was like :yeshrug: and just went for the ride.
I'm kicking myself about not grabbing Telsa at $400 but we gotta just handle the L's to keep making more money

I like Pfizer and Guardant Health....Pfizer looks like a good dividend stock with room for growth (more than just Viagra:mjgrin:)

Guardant health I like b/c of the business of cancer biopsy screenings. Plenty of growth (unfortunately) in that field.
