I made some good money on individual stocks over the last few years (Amazon, Netflix, PayPal, Apple, Chegg, etc) and Im having the debate if I should sell some and put them into my ETFs.

anyone else do this?
i don’t want to get caught with my pants down

i don’t want to get caught with my pants down

I personally like to have a big chunk of my money in high dividend ETFs (e.g. VYM) and let it reinvest the divendends. That way, if the market drops it just means that the next set of dividends will just get you more shares. You can just let it sit there and reinvest for decades.

In the last 2 months I really heavied up on VYM, might throw some more soon.

Stock splits don't really "create" value...but I like AMZN anyway so :ehh:
They do to low dollar unsophisticated retail investors and also to companies like Amazon that give normal employees stock as part of compensation. They don’t increase the market cap directly but they have a good impact.
