The Longest Walkable Distance on Earth

Joseph Pisenti of RealLifeLore (previously) offers a “brief overview” of the longest pedestrian distance between two points on the Earth’s surface. This 14,334 mile trek, which commences at L’Agulhas, South Africa and terminates in Magadan, Russia, takes about three years to complete and also poses a great number of likely hazards to encounter within every border crossed. It has never been done.

Nobody in history has ever before managed to complete this real-life achievement. People have already climbed the tallest mountain, sunk to the deepest part of the ocean and even landed on the moon, but nobody has ever accomplished the longest possible walk. So what would it actually be like for you if you decided to become the first. Here is a brief overview of both the horrible and amazing things that you would end up experiencing.

I think we all know why it hasn’t been done. You have to walk through a certain continent :mjpls:

Thats the long and short of what the video says. Apparently its either animals or dangerous people :mjpls: that will kill you

Why can’t you go past that point in Russia? Doesn’t even look like it is on the ocean
The route had to be mappable on google maps, apparently that area isn't

One thing missing is the obvious fact that only a Westerner could possibly do this due to having the "right" passports. Africans would get stuck at some point once they reach northern Africa or at the latest the ME.

Looking at the illustration I would have thought that going all the way to the Bering Strait would be the longest, too. I have to wonder what the parameters for "walkable" are in use here.
