Yes, both G-Unit and Dipset took the mixtape game to new heights and help changed the format to what it is today (Artists run mixtapes). But The Lox were the originators of the fan being thirsty to cop the latest so or so tape, so you can hear a rapper rip it to shreds with the latest freestyle or exclusive. The Lox use to LIVE on those Clue tapes in the late 90's/early 00's. When you saw a tracklisting and saw LOX were on it, you KNEW it was going to be some shyt. When it came to Hot 97 freestyles, a lot of legends past and present did their thing and had classic moments, but when the Lox use to make their way up to Flex show, you knew it was an equivalent to watching a 90's Bulls game on NBC during a Sunday afternoon. They brought a certain energy and feeling to the mixtapes that no rappers had brought up until that point. Their run and impact definitely influenced G-Unit and Dipset's reign. For that, their contributions should never go overlooked.
just came in to :salute: this thread............anybody got a lox discography link that includes all there group and individual freestyle and mixtape material?:blessed:
