Old LOX are legendary to me. Styles one of my top MC's of all time. But this really ain't doing nothing for me sad to say. These songs the best they could come up with. Damn brehs... And Sheek sounding kinda corny and wack, damn.

How can I forget that? I'm retarded.
Its all good.

"The Essence" is one of the strongest LOX tracks ever recorded IMO so it immediately popped up in my head lol. That mid 2000's era had so many LOX bangers ("I Dont Give A Fvck", "The Essence", "Ruff Ryder For Life", etc and that was just after Jada's Billboard #1 album Kiss of Death in 2004, his champ is here mixtape, the Styles Ghost in the Machine, Ghost in the Shell mixtapes that were on fire in 2005, Sheeks Year of the Wolf, etc. and then the G-Unit drama started. So they guys were super hot and that was the perfect time to drop the follow up. Those sh1ts were all I listened to in my college days.

To me that was the perfect time for them to drop their 3rd studio group album, but somehow they just got lost and kept dropping solo albums, and mixtapes, and guest featuring on other peoples tracks etc. Then the south took over, and the game pretty much changed.

But going back this EP, I just downloaded it, and I can say its kinda disappointing. Its not "super trash" but I expect much better from them.

it's only 4 songs. Imma need more than 2 of the 4 to be hot. especially with a group that's dropped as much collective piff as the lox members.

and these nikkas need to quit using soundclick rejects to produce their music :snoop:

I never heard this. Daps. I would've loved to hear beanie Sigel on this.

:deadmanny: at Sigel asking Alchemist to roll the weed up...

ALC - "When they signed Beans, they were on a mission to hook me up with him cause I was coming up and they just felt like it would be a good match. I had this one DAT tape at the time I had mad beats on it and I would see Biggs and he would be like, ‘Yo number 17’ or some number on the tape and he would be like, ‘Number 17, I'm telling Beans about that one.’ We always tried to put it together.

“But it was a weird session, it didn’t really click off right. I was at Quad Studios and nobody was there, Beans and I had never met and he rolled through with his crew and he was like, ‘Yo you the engineer man? Roll some weed up.’ I remember calling Hip-Hop and being like, ‘Damn, I wish you were here to referee this.’

Maybe two or three times, I went to Rocafella or Def Jam and went to go meet Beans, Biggs, or Hop and they called Jay-Z into the room. I definitely got to play beats before for Jay in those scenarios but it just never connected.

the fact that hov has never spit over an ALC beat is a travesty of hip hop.
