It really isn't. It's the boring and dull climate the WWE created.

If Jake The Snake wrestled today he wouldn't be Jake The Snake Roberts. He'd just be plain old Jake Roberts. No gimmick. No discernible personality. No snake. Just a guy in wrestling tights. Ravishing Rick Rude would just be Rick Rude. Rick The Model Martel would just be Rick Martel. None of these guys would stand out. Randy Savage wouldn't be the Macho Man. Jimmy Snuka wouldn't be the Superfly.

None of the guys on the current roster have the aura or the star power that these guys had because they were all larger than life. Steve Williams and Duane Johnson sound like average joes in a bar fight but Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock are wrestling superstars. They're gladiators. They're beyond mortal men.

And who is leading the charge today?

Seth Rollins. :beli:

Daniel Bryan. :beli:

Bo Dallas. :beli:

Vanilla nobodies.

Bray has that it and its no surprise, he writes his own shyt. You just cant create stars bruh, you gotta let em fly or flop. The cream will rise to the top.

We should all admit that WWE's problems are based on their faulty narratives.

For example, Gilberg was produced as a better character than Sheamus. Gilberg is a referent for Goldberg, and everyone one knew it at teh time because of the way that he was booked.

Likewise, as the homie Kill Dat Noize said, Jake Roberts is not the same man without his snake. It reinforces his name as well as his metaphor. That's what characters are.

Sheamus, by contrast, is just an Irishman...he isn't even a caricature. He's just pale and bland. His characters doesn't hint at what he is likely to do during a match, nor which other characters he's willing to wrestle.

Yeah, Macho was that dude.

He always seemed like a superstar, someone larger than life.

And that's with him being smaller than a lot of the guys, always loved the beard game too. Dude stood out always

Can't wait until they start upping Nitros on the Network to see when Savage held Nitro hostage dude was must see TV.

Still say WWF should've let him be the guy until 96 and put the title on him at WM 10 against Yoko their match on Raw was good. I don't think the ratings would've nosedived like they did if they kept Savage around. Then we would've gotten Savage vs HBK at WM 12 with the passing of the torch :blessed:

That was just perfect:wow:

:dahell:was up with Lawler, everything about him was :flabbynsick: especially that facial hair.

that was always Lawler and the majority of the Deep South territories. Different era, man.

Lawler, Tommy Rich, Eddie Gilbert, Michael P.S. Hayes, Terry Taylor, Bill Dundee, Harley Race, all them nikkas seem :flabbynsick: by today's standards... in their primes.

Texas and the Midwest had the physique rocking Bladerunners (Ultimate Warrior/Sting) Von Erichs, Garvins and Road Warriors.
