We need to stay away from Harrison Barnes and Derozen.

Draft Ingram

Try for Whiteside

Let Lou and Young and Hibbert go

I been looking at next year's draft though more recently, and I kinda don't want Philly to get the pick for it even though it's inevitable. Unless we trash yet again smh

If Byron is still the coach, we got a good chance to be top 10 lottery bad again next year.

Philly is getting a top 3 pick next year if Byron stays.

Scott Brooks about to be on that list.
I don't get the Scott Brooks love, he is okay with developing young guys but a terrible rotations guy with no plays. He wouldn't really be that big of an upgrade. And it's pretty much known by now that Byron is staying. I just hope we can get our pick

Why are guys so against Barnes and Derozan? We need some above average players and have huge holes in the SF and C. Anthony Brown is currently our only 3 that will be on the roster next year...

Yes, with Barnes you are banking more on his potential, but if he can give us at least 16 PPG with some defense (and hopefully some leadership) then I will take it.

If Derozan can keep his same production, great. He can be a stop-gap until a bigger name signs with LA or a young guy develops into a big star, then fall back to 2nd or 3rd option or trade bait.

We need assets, and we need veterans. We can't just keep having empty rosters or 1st, 2nd, 3rd year players and expect to build a winning team. Besides, who else is out there this summer? Batum would be nice. Durant is not coming here. There aren't many options at SF if Ingram is off the board... or we lose our pick...

Scott Brooks is okay as a starter coach to develop and empower our young guys. Same with Mark Jackson. You're not winning championships with them. I would definitely take them over Byron. I still pray they come to their senses and let Byron go. It seems many of these coaches are waiting to see what the Lakers do.

With Barnes, they're gonna have to massively overpay in the hopes that GS doesn't match. With Batum, they could have an actual negotiation since he's unrestricted.

Derozan can't shoot and that's a no-no in the current NBA. Look at his postseason history; that's because he can't shoot and it's not like he's giving a team lockdown defense or elite playmaking. :scust:

I'd try to sign Batum even if they drafted Ingram. They'd suddenly be flush with perimeter talent. :manny:

Mahinmi and Ezeli would be my top two targets for centers and I would try to sign both.

I am not against Derozan, but if we get Derozan we either make Clarkson come off the bench or let him go. The ball movement would be terrible with 3 guys who need the ball

Yeah those guys have flaws but WE fukkING SUCK so we're going to have to overpay players to field a NBA team again. We have like $60M in cap space with the cap continually going up again in the next few years, so we can afford to pay Barnes $20M or Derozan $25M. We can't afford to be picky, and if they don't pan out, in a few years we can package them with picks or young players to tinker with the roster. We need assets now. Yeah signing Batum and drafting Ingram would be a nice haul, but we need to think about our options.

I agree Mahinmi and Ezeli would be good pickups.

I think we agree the Lakers need to try to get base hits instead of swinging for the fences again this summer. If they sit on their ass waiting for Kevin Durant to make a decision I'm going to be pissed. Especially with that much cap room.

They definitely need to make moves, but they have to be the right ones. Not just signing guys to sign them.

When they took Russell at #2, they said they value shooting and spacing (at least, I'd like to believe they had some type of plan when they picked him). Derozan doesn't fit into that. Barnes does, but dropping $20 million or more on him is foolish (in my opinion) considering they have so many holes. He wouldn't make them that much better.

If we get the 2nd pick or 3rd pick (or lose it..), and Ingram is off the board, then Batum resigns with the Hornets, what do you all propose we do about SF?

If we can't get Durant or Horford or Whiteside what do you all propose we do with $60M in cap space?

Let's see some solutions instead of pipe dreams...keep in mind like 25 other teams will also have cap space.
