I think there's an element of him being a harder rapper than some so they are intimidated about that so project, but I think mainly it's media brainwashing and peer pressure, it's become a trend, many people saying that dumb shyt didn't even hear the records, to some it's become about the memes and bullshyt rather than the diss records or the lyrics, that shyt is a disgrace.

Did you listen to DWMTM? Besides 2 tracks, it's all signature Meek music but with better production. IMO it's BY FAR his best work to date. I was never a huge fan of Meek's music but his last CD stayed in rotation for me. The Dreamchasers mixtapes were dope, but this is the first project he put out that was a cohesive album start to finish.

EDIT: The "Stand Up" track is different than anything Meek put out before too, but in a good way. He showed growth on that track and on the album as a whole. But it's clearly a street record.
