Maybe that’s where UGK got it from, maybe Mannoe never heard that and only ever heard the UGK song. Maybe he asked Pimp about it and Pimp forgot where he got it from. Who knows.

Well he had session players, he had his regular contributors that he worked with a lot. I remember on and NPR interview he said they practically played the 400 Degreez beats live and recorded that way, like a jam session kind of thing and he took it from there. Something like that. He had Beowulf and I think the other main guy was Funky Fingers or something. But I don’t hunk anyone has ever said he was stealing credit or had ghost producers or anything, more like he used a lot of session players for the instrumentation which is the best way to go to get a sound if you don’t know how to play something properly.
