I just finished The Witcher 3 and I am going through a slight withdrawal...not seeing how any game can top it. But I am searching for a new game to play and I have heard about this series a lot.

I must of gotten Mass Effect 2 for free through Origins. It is beneficial to start at part 1 and work my way through the series....or should I just play one of the later versions? I started on the Witcher 2, never played part 1 and it didn't feel like I was missing anything (could be wrong though).

If anybody has any other suggestions for games that are as good as the Witcher I'd like to hear suggestions too (RPGs)

You should absolutely play the mass effect games in order.
The game is about choices which change the way the story plays out (even if in the end the result is lackluster/mediocre, but I won't spoil the details).
Mass Effect is a series that had incredible potential and suffered from what many considered to be a very lazy send off to the core series.
Everything that happens in the original 3 is great, but the story comes apart in the end.
Game play wise, the series got better with each entry IMO.
I personally didn't like ME1 when it first came out. But I gave it a try some time after release and was able to get into it and really enjoy it.
If you're familiar with Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic, you'll have a general idea of what Mass Effect is like.

This and try Dragon Age: Origins.

OP, why do you only want RPGs?

Gotta start with ME1 for the story my G, the series starts out pretty open ended and gets more linear as it goes on but it's still a great trilogy.

That Witcher 3 withdrawal is real though, it makes a lot of games you play after it give you the :scusthov: face even if they're good. If you have a PS4 Horizon reminded me of the Witcher a bit.

I prefer playing RPGs, but I've already played the entire Dragon age franchise. I have Skyrim too. I like playing through stories.

I have DeadSpace 1 and 2 on my computer that i must have picked up on a steam sale....might give one of those a try as well.

@Malta no PS4....I only game on the PC. Did I miss anything not playing the Witcher 1...graphics look pretty horrible.

That mass effect game they just released is not related to the trilogy?

The Witcher 1 is really dated, I've played all 3 and they have gotten progressively better and the biggest leap was in combat and control. I don't know if you'd like 1, the story is good but it's all point and click and the animations are trash on top of the boring combat. I beat it and I honestly can't remember how it ended but I do remember it being cool in spite of the old mechanics.

I haven't played it but Divinity Original Sin is supposed to be flames as far as rpgs go.

Mass Effect Andromeda is not directly related to the original trilogy.
You can skip to that one if you like, just know that Bioware has pretty much abandoned the series due to the incredible backlash they got in response to the ending of part 3, and later, the backlash they got for a bunch of technical issues ME Andromeda was released with.
I recommend playing the original 3 and ignoring Andromeda altogether.
Go into the trilogy with moderate expectations and I'm willing to bet you'll leave the series satisfied overall.

:ufdup:Play the whole series thru

The only warning; not the best gameplay. It's not a crisp shooter and the game is mostly about the story and gameplay changes per your choices.

If you can deal with being 90% being cover and not having the best movement you can get into it.

Andromeda did improve shooting....and literally was worst in most areas (The new Mako is dope and the environments look better)

Yeah you learn that the hard way.

Rush in gunning with overkill :bryan:

Get humbled when it runs out :mjcry:

I still had a lot of fun with it.

To me it is.
The ending of 3 was a spit in the face of the day 0 fans of the series.
I have andromeda and played several hours and it doesn't really do anything for me.
Bioware has stated that the series has been shelved indefinitely at this point.
