101 probably had more influence, but Massacre was my shyt when it dropped, a personal classic for sure.

I gotta go with the Massacre, but I could see why you would choose 101.

Are people really saying that The Massacre had no impact on the streets? There's several songs on that album that weren't singles that were big. "A Baltimore Love Thing", "Piggybank", "Get in My Car", "Ski Mask Way", "Ryder Music" and a couple of others were huge.

TM101 :ohlawd:

Massarce is great but tm101 nearly every song on that album is a banger. Its aged wonderfully too, its nearly 10 years old but it sounds 3 years old. I don't even consider tm101 trap, too great to be categorized with chief keef :scusthov:

Trap Muzik made trap rap mainstream a year before Trap or Die even existed.
Eh, yes and no.

Trap Muzik introduced the word/concept of the trap but songs like 24's, Be Easy, Rubberband Man, etc. were made for radio essentially. TM101 wasn't at all made for radio and it's sound is the model for present day trap music.

And Then What...
Soul Survivor
My Hood (this song is even interpolates "Rubberband Man" which you claim was essentially made for radio)

^^^ All of those were made for radio. With that said, what does being made for radio have to do with popularizing trap rap?

With Trap Muzik, it was the mainstream's introduction to the word/concept thus popularizing it. It wasn't just the word/concept, it was a sound. According to Toomp, it was a sound (specifically "Be Easy") that inspired Shawty Redd to create "Trap or Die". It was that record that was the blueprint for the sound of TM101.
