i liked the dunk for what it was worth - a pregame warm-up dunk.

the behind the back off the backboard was pretty nice.

I dont know why people are so pressed to see Lebron in this contest. He isnt a dunk contest dunker. He has great athleticism, but he cant move his body the way slimmer dunkers do to add that stylistic element.

Unless he catches the ball from the back board off odd angles, it will be no better than Jeremy Evans last year.

i agree & disagree.

he wasnt a dominant player at the time, but him being in the contest was indeed a big deal. altho, iverson entering the contest before having to pull out due to injury, was a bigger site to see for the fans.....but still, the nba based that contest around kobe.

even tho kobe wasnt a top 10 pick, nor a top 2 guard on his team, the media had already annointed him as the next ONE. i remember the nbc commercials at that time making me sick to my stomach.

since i double-posted by accident, might as well add to my previous post.

i remember the nbc commercials used to make me sick during that time period. they had like the goat presentation for that kobe commercial, and he wasnt even a factor yet. still riding the bench. i think it was when they were playing the bulls and they made it seem like it was gonna be jordan vs kobe on some torch-passing chit. this is why i never liked dude.

and like you said, he was a bench-player. but lets not forget, he was voted to start in all-star games before he earned the right to start for the lakers. the hype-machine was crazy.
