What's good, brehs.

I love the Coli, but there's also a lot of negative fukk shyt up here, so I thought I'd make this thread for the brehs locked in on their goals and their spirit who might want a safe haven of positivity. Whether you're on the grind with a career, relationship, health or otherwise, it takes clearing out the negativity and focusing.

Me personally, I'm a standup comic and aspiring TV writer in LA trying to build a lifelong career doing both. I freelance write web content for income and wouldn't be able to live in this big, expensive city if I didn't keep my head and my spirit tight. I mainly do meditation, DDP Yoga, jiu jitsu, weights and listen to a looooot of positive messages.

Let's share, build and keep each other sharp on this journey called life.

Just a few nuggets from warriors I respect that keep me tight. Feel free to add on any way you'd like.

in the mean time:

The War of Art | Steven Pressfield

What keeps so many of us from doing what we long to do? Why is there a naysayer within? How can we avoid the roadblocks of any creative endeavor—be it starting up a dream business venture, writing a novel, or painting a masterpiece?

The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

The War of Art emphasizes the resolve needed to recognize and overcome the obstacles of ambition and then effectively shows how to reach the highest level of creative discipline. Think of it as tough love . . . for yourself.

I'm honestly having a hard time settling down to meditate. My mind goes nuts. I need to force myself into this.

Does anyone have any techniques? I find that I worry too much about if I'm breathing right. I've read that some people say to concentrate totally on the breath, while others say to not think about it at all.

On my personal experience I feel like it is better to pick a quite area and not force yourself. Try to picture a quite peaceful place and just concentrate. The more you try to force yourself the harder things become. Music without words are helpful too, especially nature music because you are focusing on something that is not too hectic. Meditation is a process that takes time. I want to get to a point where I can just zone out during meditation and feel like I am not a part of this world.

Do you meditate with background music, or just in a quite area?

Hey! Omg, so I just meditated under the moonlight on my patio while listening to this and I can feel the energy of the universe coursing through my whole body, I could actually feel each chakra activate. It was awesome.

This video is the one I use, it's really good for it you're getting into it. I like it.

But seriously, go out there. The energy :banderas:

Been trying to meditate for awhile now but college work and other shyt gets in the way and whenever I do feel like I have time to do it, I'm always tired :francis: Still gonna try though cause I know I need some actual time to think peacefully without too much going on.
