He's spot on especially how they as a company give their studios and partners one shot and if the next mega-franchise isn't created you're getting shelved or terminated.

The guys at the top clearly don't have a firm vision for where this thing is going. It's like a dog chasing it's tail. A clear indicator of this is that whole policy where all first party titles have to also come out on PC. Remember Quantum Break only on Windows store at first then they caved in and put it on Steam and they basically dropped support for updating the Windows store version.

It's almost like the bosses are just listening to their fanboys and running things by their whims instead of hashing out a steady direction and following a plan.

Even with the Xbox 360 at least the system had an identity of the dudebro shooter box to some extent. What exactly is the Xbox One? It's just the system people get because it was cheap and or they are anti-Sony. Outside of you having a thing for Halo/Gears/Forza or wanting the cheapest mainstream box to play games on a TV who in their right mind now goes into a store and gets the Xbox over the PS4?

The reason they're in such a distant second now is because they don't even have an identity anymore. Sony took all the dudebro shooter exclusive content contracts even.

The XBOX brand is targeting steam and integration not Sony/traditional consoles. I have been saying this shyt for a while already. The bigger money is in the connected model they are going after...it's actually a real large threat to the king (Valve).

People really need to let the idea of traditional consoles go away...Microsoft did a few years ago already.

This article isn't saying anything really. All companies switch up directions. Nintendo literally switches directions every two-years because whatever gimmick they got going on dies that fast (GameCube, wii, Wii-u say hi)

Sony is usually in a countering position so when Kinect dropped they had move and ps eye, they got the VR nobody gives two shyts about, added a PsPro system to facilitate VR and that shyt super flopped (rekkapryde will tell you different tho)
Microsoft was doing tv shows, I recall Sony showing off their programming, had this superhero show plus others..what happened :smugbiden:

As for dudebro system? That's language a fanboy uses. Or, a type who only plays single player games because they are not coordinated enough to play with others. Who fits that description? Sony, winb, etc.

Scorpio is the best console available in the world once it arrives (facts) Sony had cod, bf, mag, Killzone, warhawk, doc on last gen. More "dudebro" titles. They just suck in comparison to the competitions shooters, bro...

I was thinking about windows phone just the other day. When windows phone 7 was about to be released, I tried so hard to show folks how much better it was than the then popular windows mobile..which looked like complete crap next to Android and the iPhone. I was made a believer after owning the Zune...then they so easily and PURPOSEFULLY dropped the ball with that shyt.
Bought out Nokia...and trashed it. SMH

Nokia was brilliant at what they did. They knew it was their best shot at getting bought out and it happened.

Chess, not checkers.

On one hand - directionless seems fitting.

On the other - the direction seems to be an attempt to get the chaos and poor ambition under control.

When you look at the what they are trying to do with the Scorpio, it appears like the direction is to regain the confidence of their established base.
