listen...every time it gets extremely foggy. me, the wife. and my older brother who just so happen was watching it on cable the same day i saw it. i'll hit them both up on a text and say "THe Mist" they already know.

nearly all of stephen king's books tie into his Dark Tower series.

the dude painting the picture in the first scene of The Mist is painting a picture of Roland Deschain, the lead character of The Dark Tower... but he doesn't know it.



The Mist itself was caused by experiments of The Arrowhead Project, one of the earthly operations of King's big bad, The Crimson King. In trying to break one of the beams holding up the tower, they opened up a portal into "todash space".

Todash Space may also be where stuff like Pennywise from "IT" comes from, among other things....

Project Arrowhead is also a part of The Shop, the group responsible for stuff in King's old book "Firestarter", and who also had agents show up to quiet the people of the town at the end of "The Tommyknockers".


There's no Dark Tower movies, but yeah. It all ties together.
