The bullet hit the right side of MLK’s jaw at a downward angle, shattering it in the process. The bullet then continued its path by then traveling through his neck, and severing his spinal cord before settling in his left shoulder.
Even if he did survive, he would’ve been a paraplegic, but the damage the bullet did hitting several arteries along the way was just too much, and he passed from hemorrhage shock.
And yet…
The man was still alive, and had a pulse for approximately 30 minutes after being shot.
