My junior year at college was broke off status.

I had 0 money, so I would eat that big $4 5 gallon tub of ice cream for breakfast and dollar menu for dinner. Those fukking ramen noodles

During that time, i honestly felt poverty and it was not a nice feeling

So whats your broke stories?

The most broke off I have been was the 1st year after I graduated from high school. I lost like 15lbs in one month because I didn't have enough money to eat anything. In school, people would go to Hardees. I got a biscuit, didn't even have a dollar menu back then. I used to steal food from my job at the time(Food World). I remember one time after I took my g/f's siblings to school, I had just enough gas to coast into the gas station. I had to run to my job and I thought the checks was in. I was wrong. I borrowed $10 from a co-worker and put gas in my car and paid him back when the checks came back in. Them MF's didn't even give me gas money. Not only was I broke, but I was losing at the same damn time!!

Summer of '08 was the worst summer of my adult life.

Was let go from my part-time job in february of that year. Just finished up spring quarter in college while trying to get a co-op job for the summer(didn't get it so ended up having to find one for fall quarter which I finally did). Straight bum status, that was the year gas was at an all-time high. It was "gas can status" for a nikka and his little '95 ford escort. I think one day in spring quarter I ran outta gas on the way to school. Had to call momma to bring me a gas can halfway on the trip to school '08 was the worst.

I was addicted to pain killers in 2010. I was making enough money for my apartment, bills, habit and about 5 bucks a day for food.

When I was 16/17 I got kicked out of the house several times for a few weeks at a time and had to live out of my cousins car but they + other people looked out for me so I wouldn't starve.

years ago when i was younger and irresponsible, took out about $10,000 to buy a used luxury car. took out several more thousands to handle the expensive repairs that came up.

basically wiped out my account.

lost my job months later. had to swallow my pride and borrow money from my moms boyfriend. i begged him not to tell my mom. sh1t was embarrassing.

eventually had to sell the luxury car. lost about 4 grand in just a matter of 2 months on the car. bought some 2grand toyota with some of the money i got.

couple of years later, toyota kept having problems and costing me money. car left me on the side of the road multiple times. one final time car just went out on the side of a bridge. it was a hot day in july. smoke everywhere.

i didn't have any money to my name to call a towing company. had to call my mom. sh1t was humiliating having to explain to her that i didnt have a dime to my name. needed her to loan me the $400 to have the car towed to my mechanic. she gave me a verbal lashing. she was very dissappointed in me and thats one thing that made the situation even tougher. sh1t was depressing.

man, i eventually recovered from the financial hell through a rigorous period where i worked multiple jobs. while the experience was tough, i consider it a blessing. i had to go through that to understand the importance of money and why it is good to have lots and lots of it and not spend it on dumb sh1t. this is why i cringe to the core of my bones when i hear ANYONE argue with me that money is not everything. MONEY IS EVERYTHING YOU SONS OF B1TCHES!

this is also why folks who get into debt over dumb things anger me. and yes, loans to attend expensive colleges are dumb, buying expensive cars is dumb....unless you can pay cash down for it and not miss the cash.

Junior year of college. Moved off campus and had to deal with shyt like bills. Of course I was working part time due to school so I had just enough for rent, light bill, food shyt like that. It was rough though. Some days a nikka was dead broke.Had to cut back on the 8th's of kill and shyt like hennesy. I was back on my freshmen shyt with dimitri vodka,211 cans, and ramen noodles. I was maxing credit cards, overdrafting, and pulling debit card scams to survive on some weeks. But it was still fun

Won't sit here and cry about my problems but I can say I now know what it's like to be BROKE and I can deal with anything once I get out of this mess.

Well, fellas what ever don't kill us makes us stronger. At least we all can sit here and talk about it. People like us know to appreciate when we get an unexpected blessing out of no where. If you're not in the best shape financially right now, know that it doesn't last forever. If you have been broke and you're in a better situation now, remember and cherish the time you was broke so that you know not get that way again.

The worst 2 years of my life... Mid 2002 thru 2004...

I was going thru some court shyt & couldn't get a job... I literally was that cliche broke nikka with no job, no car living in his mother's basement...

Freshmen year my parents were supporting me pretty good + I didn't need groceries nearly as much since I had a meal plan. Ended up using cash for gas and going out really

Sophomore year I had a job until New Year's, but by then I had a decent amount of money saved up to provide for myself. Ironically it was when I had this job that I never had any problems financially (as in, unexpected issues that you have to pay for)

Junior year I was flat out broke the whole time. Used the hell out of my refund money (though I wasn't too frivolous) and after that I was just assed out. Parents started giving me shyt for allowance ($40 a week to get groceries AND pay for gas? ) + I had court expenses so I was always doing what I could to scrape up some dough. This was also the year where many things were going on in my life that would have been easier solved if I had a job.

About to enter my senior year. Have a job but I just got taken off the payroll

Hitting rock bottom financially seems to be a great motivator though.

1 year i took off of college and was working at a grocery store with no real support from my fam. had to steal packages of hotdogs and do beer runs after i got fired from my job for being late 3 times (i had no car at the time)

but in your subconscious you always had "HOME" to go back to if shyt got too hard...

POVERTY is when there is NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON on the planet who gives a fukk about your situation and there is nothing to break your fall

That other shyt is called "get a job on campus and make money instead of wasting what little you have on drugs and alcohol"

2010-2011, I lost everything soon as I lost my job. Unemployment, plus going through my savings 401k to save everything. Stayed afloat for a few months, then just said fukk it. Once you fall behind snowball effect brehs.

I'm on the rebound, happy I got a job. Saving and stacking my money up, ill be back on top.

I just wish that dam cloud would stop following me in life though, been struggling all my life..Can't I get a break
