See alot of Scottish/British last names...Slave names
Unless I'm wrong, our ancestors chose those last names tho right? Should've gotten african last names just out of spiteA reminder that we were slaves. Been thinking about changing my last name
Many did change their names. But, the main reason they kept them was to help their sold and lost family members find them. Keeping those last names helped reunite thousands of family members after emancipation.Unless I'm wrong, our ancestors chose those last names tho right?
