If you can't bring up another game that did the same thing better than were just splitting hypothetical hairs. While we're at it, why did the AI spell the blood on Joel or hear him breathing. Why didnt Joel ever have to take a piss. Are you gonna tell they literally CANT program these things.
So in order to criticize a game, there must be an exact example that does it better? :comeon:

Yall just make these conversations impossible moving goalposts, faulty logic and shyt :smh:

Well obviously there is no exact comparison.

But quiet does exactly what I said is possible. She reacts intelligently to danger and purposely avoids them as she follows you around.

It's fine to say it couldn't be done perfectly but....

There's no reason your companions should behave like the enemy is just not there.

It's bad coding/a.i. Any way you cut it.

You can find bugs here and there in any game. The game did what it did better than any other game. Period. Quiet is a mile away from you. Why do you keep bringing her up. How can you say, "look how she stays out of sight and Ellie can't". If Ellie fell back a mile away she could hide just as easily. While we're at it, how stupid is it that a person that can become completely invisible, doesn't have to breathe or move at all, can run faster than anyone in the game, has to be a mile away from the action. Maybe Snake should have been on the rifle and quiet should have been in the thick of it

Quiet basically is out of sight and hides far away and shoots enemies when you tell her to or when you're about to be spotted. She's a direct tool, a gameplay option. Ellie is self controlled. Invalid comparison.

Quiet is a gameplay element, Ellie is there for narrative purposes with some gameplay bits sprinkled in automatically(She'll help you if you're fighting someone who's wrestling you, she'll give you supplies and she basically is organic so to speak as oppossed to quiet simply being there.)

If anything, there's not many games similar to TLOU where there's stealth elements while there's also a non controlled buddy AI with you. It's very different.
No quiet acts independently. She'll support you without you ever giving her a command.

And DD actually attempted to avoid enemies.

There's plenty of examples of companion A.I. Being better than it is in TLOU. I don't know why Yall go so hard to make excuses for it.
DD is not "plenty". Again, you're comparing a gameplay element(You control what the dog does) and it either does what you tell it to it ignores you. It doesn't do that on it's own.

That's not a bug, that's a regular occurrence, and something the devs did on purpose.

The game did what it did better than any other game. Period. Quiet is a mile away from you. Why do you keep bringing her up. How can you say, "look how she stays out of sight and Ellie can't".
It doesn't matter where she's at and there's plenty of times when she is close to you and she's still never act as dumb as Elle does thoughout the entire game.

If Ellie fell back a mile away she could hide just as easily. While we're at it, how stupid is it that a person that can become completely invisible, doesn't have to breathe or move at all, can run faster than anyone in the game, has to be a mile away from the action. Now moving goalposts again :francis:

She only does so when you get your bond up with her and get the "Cover me" option. Before so, you only have her scout the area and/or attack a specific target.
If anything, Quiet made the game easy mode once you got that option.

Compared to Ellie who just does w/e she can do at the time by herself. You don't micromanage buddies in TLOU hence why I said the comparisons are completely off. Also you're ignoring that MGSV's takes places most of the time OUTSIDE in big ass open areas/outposts while TLOU is mostly confined to more tightly designed interiors and whatnot with some openish areas and usually they are just for finding items and stuff. Different design.

And so does Ellie, and other AI companions in TLOU
Never said she didn't.

You're right. The last of us has absolutely horrible AI that could been coded by a fourth grader and Ryse is an incredible game everyone needs to play right now. You can't accept the simple fact that there is no way to do what you are demanding without making the AI partner OP and diminish the overall experience of the game.

No. She follows you and acts indepently no matter what you do.

Sounds like an excuse to me.

Why not just make the A.I. better.

After all you said it was "realistic survival horror"(which it really isn't:smh:)

:comeon: So bascically TLOU is overrated because the AI acts retarded at times? I do admit, while I was trophy hunting and doing multiple playthroughs I did notice that the AI (at times) acted pretty retarded. But this is not the case throughout the game (maybe if you're playing on easy)

Other than some AI problems, TLOU is a solid game and one of the best games that came out last gen.

I highly doubt some of you guys played TLOU and there's also a good chance some of you guys completed the game on easy aka the casual gamer settings :mjlol:
