Yes! when he is the main target.....Look at the competition. Nelson will never face someone as good as VH3

just face it...amari going top 10 and nelson not getting drafted

Competition breh?

Brandin Cooks played the same competition yet the title of best WR was between him and Watkins.

What's does being the main target have to do with leading the FBS in targets per game? He still leads in targets, he averages 4 more targets per game than Spruce.

Nelson Spruce
WR
Junior
Colorado
6'1" 195 pounds

This boy is easily the most slept on and underrated player right now. Which he's probably use to considering he wasn't even seen as a great high

The person most will call the best receiver in CFB right now is Amari Cooper, which isn't totally wrong, but stat wise, Spruce is up there himself.

Amari Cooper: 52 rec, 746 yards, 5 TDs.
Nelson Spruce: 62 rec, 732 yards, 10 TDs

So, at a stat standpoint, Cooper and Spruce really are 1A and 1B.

Before their last games, Spruce led all college receivers in receptions, yards, and TDs, he still leads in receptions and touchdowns.

He seems productive but that's not even enough to warrant a comparison to Cooper. Cooper plays better competition. Spruce needs to continue to impress against Big 12 competition to rise up the boards. Notes seem to indicate he runs good routes and catches everything, but WalterFootball.com still only ranks Spruce as the 30th best NFL prospect.

Cooper has a borderline heisman candidate throwing to him on a all around great team.

On a "run first" team he still gets the ball thrown to him more than Spruce, and yet Spruce still has 10 more receptions.

Marqise Lee and Brandin Cooks played against the same level of competition as him but people loved them. That "he plays weak competition" just seems weak cause those two played no better competition but nobody brought it up against them

If he can keep this pace up his stats are going to be amazing by the time the season ends.

Let's look at Spruce's merits. He's 6'1 (not especially tall), is projected to run 4.5 to 4.6 (not especially fast), and has great hands. I guess Spruce is a sleeper if one factors in that depedent on production, he could be a player like Decker so in this sense I agree, but that doesn't make him comparable to Cooper, statistics notwithstanding. Sims isn't a Heisman candidate and Cooper is slated to produce regardless of QB. Moreover Cooper has a higher ceiling. So the comparison between the two receivers is off-base. Spruce could be a good pick but a guy like White looks better from a #1 perspective.

I'll have to watch dude to compare but stats are not enough, breh. I agree he's ultimately "slept on" by dudes but let's not get carried away. Spruce needs to keep producing to get into that Cooper range. Greg Salas put up great stats in college too.:yeshrug:

dude is this like your first year watching CFB? like what? Putting up great stats doesnt not mean that you are gonna get drafted.

Brandon cooks ran a 4.33..the second fastest time at the combine...He was compared to steve smith...dude goes 110% every time. Thats why he shot up the boards late and became a first rounder.

People lead the FBS in yards and receptions and dont get drafted...its cuz they not that good thats why. This spurse guy is just another one..he aint getting drafted. He is not that good. hop off his jockstrap.

Cooper was gonna get those numbers regardless of the system cuz he is that good. Put it like this. If spurse was on alabama. He wouldnt sniff the field..he probably wont even play special teams.

Spruce and Amari are the same size, except Cooper has like 15 pounds on him I think. Its not like a 4.5 40 is snail slow :whoa: and with his hands and jumping ability it's like his slowness will be his downfall

He still gets the ball thrown to him 4 more times a game with a better QB but Spruce still has 10 more receptions and 5 more touchdowns and now other receiver on that team is worth shyt.

Spruce is putting up similar stats with LESS than Amari. Bama's offense is obviously more centered around Amari than Colorado's is on Spruce.

Doing about the same on a far worse team is the great part.

If Spruce was on Bama he would be lined up on the other side of the field with Amari breh get the hell out of here. Those hands are amazing and somebody basically bthe exact same size as Amari wouldn't go to waste on that team.

I'm aware of Richardson. Spruce himself said "one player can't put up Richardson's numbers"

Now look at him.

Do those receivers have hands like Spruce tho?
