Brock said in his book Kane was strong as hell and the only guy he couldn't beat backstage in arm wrestling. Couldn't even make his arm budge. Brock needs to look vulnerable in order for the fans to buy into the match or they might as well just make Seth hand him the title.

And still in amazing shape for a 48 year old. I get that Brock is supposed to be a monster but he ain't invincible. He got chop blocked and took a chair to the knee thus allowing them to gain the upper hand. Cena and Brock aren't the same type of character.
here is why i think the chair would have made the segment much better. You are playing the angle of the MONSTER Champion that was never beaten by the weasel that is Seth Rollins. Brock is PISSED, they did a great job of that the night after mania. Now he's back and on a seek and destroy mission. Seth gathers his troops to protect him and his championship, and while I do like that Kane got SOME heat on Lesnar, it still shouldn't have been enough to stop the Beast. Seth Desperate goes out and finds a weapon and it takes multiple chair shots(not to the head) to finally keep Lesnar down.
this makes Lesnar a sympathetic babyface and the fans want even more now to see Seth get his ass kicked at the PPV.
Also, Seth should have ended Raw with his foot on Lesnar's chest holding up his title
man that shyt was terrible. After that one Smackdown where he randomly beat up Austin he was 
jobber status until he got deavors

Kane would not survive against Brock Lesnar 10 seconds in a real fight. Nor should he in kayfabe. This was before the chair even came into the equation. He got the upper hand on Brock Lesnar in a 1 on 1 fight and put him down with(a very weak) chokeslam.
